:confused3 This is my dilemma & I need all the suggestions from the great folks of DIS. I like to plan. To me that's one of the highlights of any trip. It relaxes me from work & family stress & gets me real excited about the trip. So I'm planning a Dec. trip 12/9 -12/16 for my DS 4th b-day. We're really excited because he went for his 1rst b-day & then again when he was 2 but he really didn't get much out of it. WE DID  but anyway he loved the sights & sounds & being with us. So now that's he'll be 4 I hope he gets more out of it & he can ride the big boy rides. Sorry for the longwinded build up. But I want to book a dining plan so we can save $ for the character meals & my DH loves to eat at the table service restaurants. The way I figured for about the same price we'll be eating at mostly counter service & I want to spoil my DH & myself with a table service meal everyday ! My dilemma is I need to book the package at the end of Oct. for Dec. (I get a bonus & we don't have c/c so no way to book earlier). I then will be using the wonderful folks DU to book all my adr's. It will probably be 45 to 50 days before the trip. Will this be enough time to get our ADR's ??? We would like some early dinners & lunches so I hope it's not a problem.

My choices so far are : CP dinner, Chef Mickey for lunch or dinner, Sci-Fi, Donald's Breakasarous (?), Le Cellier, the Morocco restaurant. So far. Any suggestions as to other kid friendly restaurants ?

Now all I have to worry about is a good package deal for Dec. Any and all suggestions are really appreaciated !!! :grouphug:

Mama Melrose at MGM around the corner from muppets. It is a GREAT resturant and it is a sit down, and the resturant is beautiful. your son can right on the wall there. they have pizza and pasta. Its nice and fancy but also at the same time if your son doesn't see anything he likes they will make it the way he wants. There isn't to many people that know about this resturant, which is to bad its a great resturant! have fun.

O'Hana character breakfast (Polynesian). Now that Stitch is there it's a must do for my son. Getting the monorail to MK is so easy. Also, for character meals, Crystal Palace was a favorite of my sons (6 & 8) at the time; they even wanted to repeat it last trip. The food buffet is really good! We did Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner- my DH loved the food (Thanksgiving fare) my kids loved the characters. The Garden Grill in Epcot was great for characters, but I've heard iffy things about it since they changed the menu. Tepanyaki in Japan world showcase was also a hit for my boys, they loved having the food cooked in front of them. If you go to Donalds', make sure you have an early PS. They seem to be terminally unorganized; I imagine it only gets worse when it's later in the meal. Have fun!!

i would go to crystal palace, great character interaction and buffet was pretty good. also 1900 park fare at breakfast was good. Buffet was great and characters were wonderful(mary poppins, mad hatter, pooh characters, alice.) We went this year from dec15 to des 22 and i made my reservations about 30 days in and got most of the times i wanted granted we ate late dinners becasue kids are 12 and would wait till ater. found that character interaction was wonderful at all meals maybe due to late res. However this said also loved chef mickey's buffet great and character interaction wonderful, mickey even personalized a signature for my son's best friends mother9 agin we had a 930 pm dinner res, so resturant was starting to clear out. good luck and don't worry you should have time to get res. you want if not make on for a different time and call back untill you get the time you want. this worked for me on a number of occasions.

Chef Mickey's will need to be either breakfast or dinner. They don't serve lunch.

The only worry I have for making ADR's in that time frame would be LeCellier. With the Candlelight packages they were fully booked at the 90-day mark last year. The packages went on sale before 90-days.

I think you have a good mix for yourselves and your child.

Don't really have any suggestions for you, but we just wanted to say that we are currently planning for our trip 12/7 - 12/16 for our DS 5th birthday. Unlike yours, he has never been before, so we are hoping this will be our most magical trip ever!
