Hi
This is my first time at the Photography board. I have all these pics on my computer that are waying it down. I have most of them developed, but want to save them also. How does a picture CD work? Thanks in advance.

Ummmmmm... let's see if I understand your question right.

I assume when you say "developed", you mean that the pictures are from a digital camera and you printed them out? (Digital pictures don't need to be developed like film does.)

When putting them on a CD or DVD, they are just the same as any other file on your computer. You can use the same program (such as Nero, Easy CD Creator, etc) to burn a CD of photos as you do any other CD. Kodak did used to sell "Photo CDs" but those are pretty much obsolete now.

Most modern DVD players can take a CD that you've burnt of pictures and play them as a slideshow on your TV, too. If so, the DVD player will be advertised as being able to play JPGs.

Yes, I meant printed them out. I am new to the whole digital and the photo cd thing, but you answered my question. Thanks
