I took some engagement pics for my niece and her fiance over the weekend with my point and shoot digital camera. It's a decent camera, even though I wish I was fortunate enough to own a DSLR. Anyway...I have a couple features on the camera that let me save each shot as black and white and sepia in addition to the original, but now I'd like to do a little more editing, such as softening the edges and such. Is there a website that will allow me to do so and afterwards be able to save the edited images to a disc without losing any of the quality?
TIA!

Are you on a Mac or PC?

I would look for inexpensive software that would help you edit your photos versus web based editing. Adobe Photoshop Elements is a good choice, though it maybe overkill. They do offer a free trial so you can evaluate the program.

If you want something free, maybe look into Picasa. I haven't used it in a couple of years; but I remember it being very easy to use, with some nice editing features (such as softening edges).

But if you wanna invest some money into a program, I'd highly recommend Lightroom. Easy to use, and you can do quite a bit with it. It also has a free trial.

Both Lightroom and Photoshop (Elements would be good, too) have fully functioning 30 day trials. Go to Adobe.com

Another option I'd throw out there would be a free program called GIMP. I haven't used it in a very long time but it had a lot of the functionality of Photoshop. There was even an interface you could load on top of it called GIMPSHOP that made it look a lot like Photoshop also.

I haven't used it, but there's also Picnik, a browser-based photo editor.

I would second this! It does have a little bit of a learning curve (especially if you haven't used an editor before), but after a bit, you should be able to do some pretty nice basic editing.

Also, a program such as this is a nice way to see if editing is something that you want to do more of, and if so, then you might decide to spend a bit of money to get a stronger editing program. But for just starting out, and doing some basic editing, GIMP really is a good way to go.
