I haven't been on a plane in a long time so I feel kinda dumb asking this but here goes...

I'm thinking no, but can you pack aerosol hairspray in your checked/carry on luggage or do they sell it in the gift shops at DW? I'm staying at POP and will be in DTD the first night I'm there if I can't bring any with me, I can buy it. We will be traveling through Disney transportation so, we don't have a rental car and won't be going off site.

Thanks ALL input is HIGHLY appreciated:santa:

I have brought aerosol mousse with me. Why can't you bring it? Cause it might explode?

I saw on the TSA website that it could explode and wasn't allowed. My mom said it was but honestly I'm not sure she's correct as she never wears it so, I thought I would ask some fellow DISsers.:) Was yours a travel size or regualr size?

Aerosol hair spray is fine. I often have it in my checked bags. The travel sizes are really convenient, I find them in the sample sections of many different stores.

Have a good trip!

You can put it in your checked luggage and it should be fine. I put hairspray & shaving cream which are both aerosols in my checked luggage and never had it explode. But with anything there is always a chance it could happen. I do put it along with all my toileteries into a ziplock bag and put it in my checked luggage.

Thank you all for your responses! I will get some travel size aerosol hairspray... & I completely forgot about the shaving cream... I can't live w/o that... That's added to my list. & ziplocks I always bring them:thumbsup2

My understanding is that you can pack aerosol items if they are for PERSONAL use. The TSA did search my checked luggage and removed my aerosol air freshener.... obviously they have never been in a hotel room after 6 days at Disney (I usually do laundry after about the 6th day) with all of those dirty clothes or in the bathroom after one of the 3 boys I live with!!! I'd say that air freshener was for my "personal use." But hairspray and shaving cream are fine. IN CHECKED LUGGAGE.

ITA....I travel frequently and when I check luggage, I double bag ANY liquid. OK, call me neurotic--but I've had things leak that had no reason to leak other than the air pressure/temperature differences in the hold. :headache: What a mess to clean up!

Be aware that aerosol hairspray counts as a "liquid" if you put it in your carry-on. It has to be three ounces or less, and fit inside you quart-size ziplock with your other liquids. I didn't realize it would count as a liquid, and had to throw mine away on a recent trip because I couln't cram it into my ziplock at the last minute!

"personal use" means something that is meant to be applied to your body. Things like aerosol hairspray ans deodorant are fine. Things like air freshener and laundry starch are not.

we've had both mousse and hairspray explode in our checked luggage.
the hairspray was double bagged and stayed inside, but the mousse broke the bag and sprayed over everything in my suitcase. it might not happen, but there is also a definate chance it will.
we only bring aerosol pumps now :)

OK, this is completely off topic of the original question but as a fellow air traveller I have have a space saving, weight reducing hint regarding shaving cream/gel for women.

Leave it at home.

The best shaving cream you can use is your hair conditioner which you are already taking with you (unless you use a 2in1). I have never bought shaving cream in my life. Try it at home first to make sure it is something that will work for you. I think you may be pleasantly surprised at how well it works.

I realize you have already been on your vaction but hopefully I can help someone else with this tip.

I absolutely agree.

I thought I was the only one who used conditioner for shaving cream.:rotfl: I friend recommended it to me years ago and I haven't bought shaving cream since.:rotfl:
