We've been on the Fantasy before but have not spent time in O'Gills. We are just off the Magic in Europe and loved our nightly visit to the pub. We played several games of backgammon nightly and the live Irish music was the best entertainment on the ship.

Does O'Gills on the Fantasy have the pub game tables for chess and backgammon? Does it have the small stage space for live entertainment with nightly music?

I am not really a "board" game player so can't comment on that part but we did spend several evenings listening to live music at O'Gills on the Fantasy. Also played trivia games there. It is not just Irish music but the live musicians played a variety of music. We love O'Gills. Spent a lot of time in the there on the Fantasy and well as on the Magic on EBTA this year.

There is nightly entertainment, but I've never seen an Irish band like they bring on the European cruises. From looking at the navigators for the European cruises, they have had some very good Irish bands. Which band was on your cruise?

My biggest problem is that the live music in O'Gills can be crazy loud, and that's not my idea of a good time. It's the primary reason I spend the vast majority of my time in Skyline.

O'Gill's is fairly narrow and long. I don't recall a stage area, but one night there was a guitar player on our cruise

I also don't recall any board games in there.

If you are cruising in the next 4 months on the Fantasy, the entertainer in O'Gills is the best onboard entertainment we've encountered. He is just returning from vacation and I'll be honest, I have thought about booking a cruise just to see him perform!

Even my avatar agrees.

I loved 687 on the Dream because it had windows out to the Ocean but I wasn't a fan of O'gills, we went the 1st night and never returned. The bar stools were very low and it just felt very enclosed to me. I think my issues were more that I loved 687 than that I didn't like O'Gills. We spent the trip mostly at the Cove pool bar!

On our B2B in Europe we had four great Irish bands. I was surprised that they rotated in and out mid-cruise. Our favorite was a group with three Irish sisters from NYC. We've never been board game people either but really liked playing this time. I think this was because of the setting. Brilliant observation about the windows. It enhanced our experience seeing the views in Norway from a comfy and warm spot. Our next Fantasy trip is in April. I don't think I'll spend nearly as much time there based on these responses.

O'gils on Fantasy has board games of all kinds - they are stored in the very back area of the Pub.
