Other then CC we are not thinking of getting off at the ports of SM & STT. We will be in Florida the whole week before the cruise enjoying sandy beaches, deep sea fishing, waverunners, and parasailing so I dont think it's worth the hassle to get off at these ports.

My question is does everything stay open on port days? Are the pools open? Oceanneers Club? Restaurants? I dont want to stay onboard if it's not going to be fun..and if anyone has stayed on board is it nice and relaxing or still fairly crowded? Thanks :-)

Last year we stayed on the ship on Nassau day, and it was great! The kids practically had the pool to themselves. Everything was open--the kids went to the clubs for a few hours, we had lunch at Beach Blanket Buffet, Scoops, etc. Hope you have a great trip!

We also have stayed onboard at different times.

This is the absolutely best time to enjoy the pools, hot tubs, and lounge chairs. The ship is so empty, and it is great time to explore and enjoy some things you can not do on a full ship...

We've "done" Nassau before and were not interested in getting off the ship on our last cruise. It was great!! The kids had the Mickey pool to themselves for the longest time. It was the next best thing on our trip~~next to CC of course!!

The only thing that isn't open are the shops, including shutters. The ship is wonderful on a port day. We tend to only spend 1-2 hours in town so fully enjoy the almost empty Mickey pool with the kids.

I agree - we sat on our veranda and enjoyed the view of Key West and then enjoyed the empty pools. Same thing at Grand Cayman. The pool deck and deck 10 were practically deserted. There are not as many organized "activities" when in port, but we did not find that that impacted us at all. The restaurants are all open, the spa was not as busy, movies are still on - it was great! Those were by far our favorite days.
