If I have 2 adults and 2 kids over 9 but under 17; do all of us in the room have to be on the dining plan or can just 2 adults be on plan where as the older kids would more than likely doing there own thing??

Everyone on the resservation must have the same package. So it is all or none with the dining plan.

HaleyB is correct-it's all or none with the dining plan. However, even if your kids will be off doing their own thing, everyone still has to eat! They can eat where they want and you can eat somewhere else if that's what you all choose.

Also, you could "let" the kids use the CS credits for lunch and dinner so they wouldn't have to mess with eating sit downs... and then I guess you would be 'stuck' doing some extra sit down meals or some Signature dining meals.

The way the dining plan works you will get 4 TS (sit down) meal credits; 4 CS (walk up) meal credits; 4 snack credits per night. You get to decide how and when to use them. The credits are pooled per family, so the adults can eat at the TS and the kids at the CS if that works better or any combo you can think of. Some nicer meals cost 2 credits per person, the signature meals.

If 4 x $35 a night is more than you can budget you can do a split stay, a few nights on a package with dining and a few nights room only (your tickets can be longer than your package stay so it works). Just ask that the resservations be linked, odds are you will not have to change rooms if you do that.

You would have to use up the dining credits before midnight on the day you switch from package to room only but it would be a nice way to fit in a few nice meals. Before the free dining discount for this fall came out that was our plan.
