Last October we did the SW dessert party at HS and really enjoyed it, particularly the reserved viewing location. I am considering booking the MK Garden Viewing for our June trip especially since my mom will be with and shes in a wheel chair. Is the viewing area the same as when you could get a fp for fireworks? And once Wishes changes over to Happily Ever After will they still have Once Upon a Time? If so, are you allowed to stay in the viewing area for that?
Thanks!!

I can't answer the question regarding the FP+ location. When we did FP+ for Wishes it was when it was in the rose garden and I believe they then changed the location? The Plaza Garden viewing is in the new garden they created in the hub in front of the Plaza Restaurant outdoor seating area. We did this party in December and loved it. The garden is not crowded at all and if you position yourself at the very back of the garden at the back railing, most likely, no one will be standing in front of you and you get an amazing view of the castle and fireworks. Yes, you can stay in the viewing area for Once Upon a Time. They open it to anyone for Once Upon a Time, but when we went hardly anyone came into the area.

Thank you! That is good to hear! I really miss them offering fp for the fireworks. I know a lot of people thought it was a waste of a fp but I loved the convienience of having a spot without having to wait!

It's the same nice faux grass area that was available for FP fireworks, at least it was when we booked it last year. We just did the dessert party with garden viewing in February and it was just as fantastic as it was for FP area last year. We had a ton of room to stretch out and relax without feeling like a sardine in a can. After fireworks were over (in February), we hung out for at least 30+
minutes to let the crowds die down. CM's didn't ask anyone to leave so we could have stayed as long as we wanted. We have already booked it again for our May trip. I'll miss Wishes buy looking forward to HEA next month. HTH.

Question about the Plaza Garden View party. What type of desserts are available, are drinks available (coffee, tea, softdrinks) and are the desserts out the whole time. Thinking of doing this next week with my dad as he will be in a wheelchair and I thought it would be a more relaxing way to view the fireworks.
Thanks,

many actually prefer the garden view over the more expensive terrace view.. Disney went really crazy with trees and tall bushes in the hub.

Thanks, I think the Garden View is a better location - but it sounds like we will need to go to the terrace for our desserts and then go over to the Plaza for the show.

Yes, that's correct! You will check in at the terrace and have the dessert buffet there. Yes, the desserts are out the whole time - things like cupcakes, Rice Krispie treats, small pastries and a sundae bar. I can't recall if they had soda but I do remember coffee, juice and sparkling cider. About 15 minutes before Wishes the CM's will escort the plaza viewing guests to the garden!

something to note, you can easily sit down on the ground to watch the fireworks from garden view, it's not a standing room only squish you in amount of people.

How about for the projection show? Do a lot of people flood in after fireworks?

When we did the Garden View dessert party in December, many people left the FP+ area after the fireworks. The CMs stopped guarding the entrance at that point, and a few people filtered in to watch the projection show, but not that many. There were way fewer people in that area to watch the projection show than there were for the fireworks.

Thanks,

The desserts are too numerous to mention, and they are excellent and not just your run of the mill cookies and cupcakes (although they have variations of those, too). If you do a little searching, you can probably find a thread that has pictures. There is also a station where you can get ice cream with toppings, and there is a cheese and cracker table for those who don't want so much sugar. Drinks are available, but I don't remember soft drinks. More like coffee, juices, lemonade, etc, and the richest hot sipping chocolate you will ever have. We didn't leave the dessert area to be escorted to the viewing area until about five minutes before the fireworks, and the food was still out. It is definitely a more relaxing way to watch the fireworks. instead of jockeying for a viewing spot and standing there for an hour or more, you get to sit at a table and have great desserts until just before the fireworks start . You'll be escorted to the viewing area, which, as others as noted, isn't crowded at all and has plenty of room to move around.

Yes. We've done both and they are in the same place.

There are different types of cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, chocolate-covered strawberries, other goodies. You can help yourself to whatever you want. They have tea, but no soda. My son is gluten-free, & they prepared a whole plate of gluren-free sweets for him, much more than he could eat.

With the garden viewing, you will need to eat at the Terrace first, then leave & be escorted to the garden for fireworks viewing.
