BWV---lobby entr (carousel) to last room by canal (MGM) .1374 miles
BWV---check-in desk to ---------------- canal (MGM) .1293 miles

BWV---lobby entr (carousel)to the last room in the crest .1346 miles
BWV---check-in desk ----------------------------crest .1255 miles



VWL---WL inside lobby entr to last room at VWL--------- .1855
VWL---WL check-in desk----------------at VWL-------- .1708


BCV---BC lobby entr to solarium to last room far side of pool BCV .1621
BCV---BC lobby entr to marketplace to walkway to ---------------- .1805

BCV---BC check-in desk to solarium to last room far side of pool .1713
BCV---BC check-in desk to marketplace to last room---------- .1909

started inside main lobbies and by center of check-in desk.

Am I doing something wrong or are the BWVs ( OH MY) rooms actually the shortest walk.

Granted that the last number in each example could be off a digit.

I did these by lobby and check-in desk.

Please somebody try this site and see what you get.

sammie , nothing came up huh. give it 10 seconds .
where it says JUMP TO type in lake buena vista ,Fl
if it comes up move the map alound to get one of the resorts. you can zoom in/out on the left.

then on the top left it says start recording, hit that then double click on a start pt ( like the lobby of BCV) a red icon comes up then move your arrow to the next spot you walk to and double click etc .Under the recording it give the distances.

let me know if it's working

I'm quite sure that the BWV halls are much longer than that. No need to bring in any facts from a specious source - especially if they contradict DIS convention.

Lately, way too many people have been trying to make reservations at the BWV. It's important that we "old timers" continue to PROPERLY INFORM new people about the looooooooooooooooong, interminably long hallways at the BWVs.

Good of you to bring this up again. It's been quite a while since we've had a proper whine about those hallways (or the scary Clown and the teeny, tiny rooms and well, I don't have time to mention everything).

IMHO, no one should stay at the BWV. Bad enough we owners have to stay there.

As for the VWL & BCV, I think Tinkerbell uses up her daily allotment of pixie dust at the VWL & BCV - that's why no one complains about them. They have too much pixie dust in their eyes to ever notice anything except well, sometimes, Tinkerbell forgets to dust the last few VWL rooms and then people complain about a "dumpster" view.

I think it's probably my connection, but I did learn about that fabulous Tea that Oprah recommend's for weight loss.

They are narrow. No windows along the way. Everything looks just the same. If it weren't for the room numbers, you might even think you were on a treadmill not going anywhere.

Edited to add: Those routes you measured are from check-in to the furthest room. But at BCV and VWL, there are other things along the way to see, The BC Marketplace, the Solarium, The Breezeway, the Iron Spike Room, the VWL lobby, the BCV lobby. At BWV, it's just the hallway. Miles and miles of hallway.

So, if you measure from the resort lobby, not check-in, BWV loses again.

The biggest difference is the fact that BWV only has elevators in ONE central location and you have to walk all the way to the elevators and then back all the way to your room. At BCV, they have several elevators locations that can be taken so you don't have to backtrack depending on whether you are coming back via car or bus or walking from Epcot. I don't know about VWL since I have never stayed there.

The length of the hallways at the hotel resorts, and the distance and stair steepness from your car to your villa at SSR and OKW, are directly proportional to your fatigue at the end of the day. There is also a psychological factor -- you'll notice that they are quite short in the morning, but on the morning you're leaving, they've doubled in size because you don't want to leave.

I think your methodology is a bit off, in that you measured from the check-in desk to the rooms. I think a more accurate measure would be from the entrance door of the villas to the rooms. For instance, if I'm coming back on a bus to VWL, I don't go anywhere near the check-in desk.

The reason nobody complains about the walks at VWL is because people there tend to be laid back and not very much into complaining...I can't speak for those BCV people!

Actually, I've seen many comments here about the looonnnnggg hallway at VWL.

To me, it's probably the most overated issue on these boards. YMMV.

So there I am on Monday.....I've been at BWV for almost 3 days now...what to do to occupy myself as I walk the interminable walk to my room from the elevator? Count my steps!!! 135 steps from the elevator to room 5017, a bit before the Crest waves. To my room facing the quiet pool, that was 2 villas down from the canal end of the bldg?? 230 steps!

I've had huge walks at POP, at BCV's and at POR...never complained about them, not going to start now. If I'm at BWV, I am not complaining about anything!!!
