? about Le Cellier

Hi there,

Maple Ginger Glazed Salmon - Asian noodle "soup", baby carrots, shiitake mushrooms and fresh spinach

What is the "soup"? Could some one describe the dish? Is it tasty?

Thanks. I love Salmon, and I have been eyeing one of the petite steaks, but I want to enjoy myself and not blow my diet totally.

I don't know about the soup, but I LOVE Le Cellier. The filet with mushrooms is divine. The salmon sounds like a good choice but come on Melanie, if you can't blow your diet at WDW than where can you???!!!! ;)
 
Great and LeCellier is great service and food and is a must do when we visit WDW.:wizard: :moped: ::MickeyMo
 
Le Cellier knocked the Brown Derby out of the box as our best restaurant. It is always good, and every dish is fantastick,as is the service. I think the best waitpersons work at Le Cellier . The cast iron seared lake trout is outstanding, and the steakburger is also very good. {these are lunch items}
 

I ate this dish!!! Just 3 weeks ago, I ordered that exact dish and it was EXCELLENT. I ordered it because it was different. I could have easily ordered a steak, but I wanted different. Now this is sad, because I don't think I can describe the soup. It was a shallow dish of soup with the baby carrots and mushrooms and noodles. The salmon was placed in the middle of the bowl/dish and was pretty thick, so it wasn't "hidden" in the soup. The dish was really incredible. We joked our entire trip that we should take pics of our meals to share with people at the DIS site, but we never did it. Now I wish I did. Enjoy the meal if you try it!! However, everything at Le Cellier looked good, so you can't go wrong either way.
 
Was it the Beef and Barley soup? That is also excellent. The other soup they have is Canadian Cheddar Cheese soup with smoked bacon. Never tried that one.
 
Sorry, my mistake, you did not actually mean "soup", did you. As I recall, it is more of a "gravy", but it is very good. The salmon is cooked to perfection.
 
As I recall, it was more like a soup than a gravy. Call it a broth. It was thinner than gravy...but it was very good. And the flavors of the "soup" and the salmon together were amazing.

May I ask a question about this soup? Is the bacon mixed in, or sprinkled on the top so a vegetarian can request it "naked" :p ?
 
A couple of years ago I was able to order the cheddar cheese soup naked--but I'd ask before you're seated.
 
The bacon is sprinkled on the top, but I would check to make sure that they don't start with a meat stock.

Hopefully it's not, the Cheddar Cheese soup is incredibly good :)
