? about jogging strollers

We have a jogging stroller for my almost 5 year old and was wondering if it is too big to take on the airplane (planning on gate checking) and pushing it around Disney. She likes to ride in it alot. We are also renting a vehicle at the airport and plan on driving to the parks.

My husband wanted to take our jogging stroller (it's big) this time for our 3 year old. I said it would be too big for the bus and stuff. It was PERFECT. I was so glad that we had it with us - my daughter was so comfortable and we really didn't have any trouble with it at all. I'm sure you'd be fine.

I thought the jogging stroller would be too bulky as well, so we bought an umbrella stroller for my 4 year old and it worked out beautifully. I don't like to hold up boarding the buses (which we used for park transportation) by having a stroller. Our jogger just didn't fold as quickly as the umbrella and we just put that under the seat or beside us.

heres something to think about......

does your stroller have a pivoting front wheel? people stop short and cut you off all the time. you will run over alot more people if you cant stear your stroller very easily.

my son was 6 when we took him last year. he only wanted a stroller once, the one day we didnt go back for a break. so we rented one for the afternoon. Does your child walk the mall with you ok? im thinking at 5 you just may not want to bring it at all.

She definetely doesn't like to walk alot. She has a disease where she has trouble keeping blood sugars from dropping and a lot of activity and heat is hard on her. So we definetely need to take a stroller. That is also why we go in November. Our jogging stroller doesn't have the pivoting wheel, but she is so hard to push in the lighter weight strollers. She weighs 42 pounds. Any other suggestions???????

If the wheels must come off to fold it, you will need to put the wheels in a bag and carry them onto the aircraft when you gate-check the stroller; the airlines will not be responsible for keeping the wheels with the frame. This would also be needed when you are getting around on WDW busses.

Just a note, ALL jogging strollers do NOT have pivoting front wheels. Apparently this is because when you are running with it (although I hardly know anyone who actually JOGS with their jogging stroller LOL) it will not veer off to one side. The non-pivoting wheel does make it harder to steer, you wind up "popping" up the front wheel frequently by pushing down on the steering bar. But, you cannot beat a jogging stroller for pushing weight. I literally cannot push my two boys unless they are in the double jogger, they are so heavy and I am a lightweight. So, it is basically a decision between ease of steering and ease of pushing. Good luck!

i would take your daughter to babies r us or someplace and try her out in all the strollers. we didnt have any trouble pushing our 5 yr old in the cantury capri that we took with us last summer. it was also inexpensive and had alot of wdw friendly accessories like 3 cup holders and a huge basket.
