Thinking about buying a good / sturdy inflatable bed for our guest room. I have 2 cats, one is declawed, and the other one isn't. If they jump on the bed, will the bed gets punctured?

I know it's a strange question.... I have been asking around, and everyone just gave me a blank look. I think I can rely on DIS.

:)

LOL, well my cats put holes in my inflatable bed. It was safe as long as blankets covered it, but....

Mine also punctured it...But I also have an indoor/outdoor cat who sharpens his claws on the trees

What about a futon, instead? I know air mattresses can sometimes be on the expensive side, especially if you buy the good ones. I'm pretty sure you could get a futon for around the same price, if you could catch a good sale.

Well, I live in NYC, so space is more valuable than anything. Currently I have a futon mattress (frame already broken) fold up in the corner 2nd bedroom, which is also my office. I'd rather have an air mattress that I can put away when I have no guest. But it looks like my cat will be puncturing it in no time (while I have my guest here) ....

Darn.

Maybe if you put something like a mattress cover on it, to protect it, it might last.

We have a big piece of 6" thick foam rubber that can compress to go in the closet we use for guests. It fits regular sized sheets. I got it at penny's for like $60.
