Hi! I've been absolutely hooked the past couple days looking at everyone's pictures and reading everyone's stories!! If I would have known a few years ago what I do now about Disney weddings-I definitely would have done it!!
So here's my question. DH and I want to have our vows renewed in Disney and I can't really get a good idea from the Disney website as to cost and what's included etc. I have a feeling this is going to be something we're going to have to budget for (no help from Mom and Dad this time around!) and would like to get a more realistic figure from those of you who've done it or are in the process of it right now.
TIA!

Hiya,

We are in the process of planning / ideas stage at the moment, as we want to get married on 18 nov 2010. We are finding the cost keeps going up and up! We are from the UK, so its a much bigger cost because of the flights and travelling.

We will be paying for the wedding ourselves, and at the moment, we will have the absolute maximum of 40 people there, including us. We cannot afford to go any higher in numbers.

The thing is, its a once in a lifetime thing, we all only want to get married once (not including VR's!!!) and its meant to be the most special, most happiest day of your lives and what better way to kick it off with a wedding in Disney. I do not want to get married anywhere else, since we started looking, we havent changed out minds.

Another thing, on here is deadly. I look around other peoples PJ's and think wow- look at her cake, look at her center pieces, look at the flowers, favours, ect ect ect... it all adds up very very quickly! But its just normal to want things that looks amazing, and i think if you can afford it, have it. If not, even if you had the most simplistic Disney wedding, it will still look glamourous, beautiful and amazing. No matter what your budget, Disney will make a wedding that you will never forget.

I keep worrying because the price seems to keep adding up and we dont have anything yet, we are just planning! We are going to try our absolute best to scrimp and save up every penny we have to be able to pay for the wedding up front, but it is expensive.

If you want, then you should have it hun!! :flower3:

DH and I are planning our Vow Renewal now at WDW. It will be on Nov. 9, 2009. We are having a "Wishes" wedding. We will have the ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion at the GF and then have our reception in the White Hall room at the GF.

For DFTW they treat a vow renewal as a wedding. You have 3 options, "Escape", "Wishes", and "Couture". The Escapes start at $4500 and you have only 18 guests, no reception is included. You get the ceremony, limo, photographer, free AP's, and I believe that's it. Wishes start at $10,000(it was said the minimum was going up to $12,000, but I just signed my contract and it states my minimum is $10,000) Those minimums go up on certain days of the week, and certain seasons. You basically pick what you want and it goes towards your minimum. Here are a few links that better explain the options:

The Couture weddings I believe are $45,000 and more!

DH and I are really trying to stick to the $10,000 minimum. Well, we are at about $14,000! That does not include our photographer(we are not using Disney for this) or my dress, officiant, hair/makeup, welcome party, dress pressing and shipping the dress. So, in total we should be at about $20,000.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Another way to get a good idea on cost if you want to do a Wishes vow renewal is to do a search of this board on the term "BEO" - which is the budget breakdown Disney gives brides and grooms. Many people have posted theirs, so you can get an idea how much certain elements that you want cost.

This is how I created a working budget that I used to determine whether we could afford a Disney wedding or stick to the $10,000 minimum for Wishes (which doesn't go up to $12,000 until 2010).
