About how long will it take to watch a parade?

How long does a parade usually last? I'm thinking of both the "Celebrate" parade and the Pixar parade.

Thanks. :)

Don't know about Celebrate! since it hasn't premiered here yet but most parades are usually around 20 mins. Add to that waiting time.

Hey! Thanks for digging up my old thread and answering it. :) I realized after I posted that no one had seen Celebrate yet, but the 20 minute info is still useful. :) Thanks!

i hope they are still showing pixar in early may. i remember seeing a thread where someone posted a link to an article saying that pixar was going to go dark soon....

we haven't seen it yet, and it is on our itinerary for may!

I think too it depends on where you are on the parade route. It could take up to 20 minutes for the parade to get to you if you are at the end of the route

Right, I was talking about the time once it reaches your location.

And your welcome Lavendar Mom. Sometimes I like to look back a few pages and see if there are any questions I can answer that no one has. :goodvibes

Oh, and I'll be there for the premiere of Celebrate! on the 27th. My nephew will be performing in it. This is only his 2nd Disney parade appearance. He was in the Christmas one but he was a reindeer-this time we'll get to see his face! I'll report back how long it stops and where we watched it from. He's going to let us know where to sit depending on if it's the first show (coming down MS) or the second one (headed back up).

How exciting! Let us know how it goes! :)

That's so cool. We knew someone who was in the Parade of Dreams when it premiered for the 50th, and he played Prince Phillip. I don't think he lasted long, but it was fun watching him up there when he performed.

You'll have to let us know where your nephew is. :)

I don't know but I thought I'd pitch a little advice that I received, park yourself where the parade begins so you don't have to fight the crowds to get back to rides after it's done.:thumbsup2

Dizneydaz......would your nephew happen to know if they are doing a soft opening of this parade? Like maybe some rehearsals prior to the premiere???
We're headed down this Friday :goodvibes: and we leave on the 26th!!
I am so hoping we get to see this parade!!!!

No, sorry, no soft opening. They are practicing right now after the park closes. I think he said 12:30-4 a.m. :scared1:

Thanks all for the nice comments. I will post how it went (with pictures) probably on Sat., the 28th.

So far they've only done 1 stop on the (practice) route. Looks like they may stop 4 to 5 times. If so, I would think the parade would be more like 10 mins. per stop. :confused3 And no word on a soft opening-don't think it's going to happen.

REVISED-3 stops-after entering at IASW, near the hub, on mid-street on Main St. No stop at Town Square

From the L.A. Times. Reporter watched a 3 a.m. rehearsal

The 12-minute “show stops” occur at three locations: along Main Street, around the Central Plaza hub and in front of It’s a Small World. You won’t see the show if you wait around Town Square in front of the train station or along Matterhorn Way

Celebrate! A Street Party is currently estimated to take about 1-1.25 hours from start to finish.

I don't know yet how it'll work out exactly, but if you want to watch on Main Street, you should be there about 3:50-4:15 P.M. for the 3:30 P.M. showing, 6:50-7:15 P.M. for the 6:30 P.M. showing, and 7:50-8:00 P.M. for the 7:30 P.M. showing on slow nights.

And no, there will be no soft openings for this parade. Heck, we didn't even get the traditional Cast Preview, lol.

The calendar is now posted through May 5, Pixar Parade will be daily. Yay! We haven't seen it either.

That one is a blast! My girls love it and just remember - you WILL get wet. No matter what the weather. Just a fact to keep in mind..... ;)

Saw the premiere of CELEBRATE! yesterday and loved it! Very high energy and all the dancers do a great job. My DNephew was really fabulous. Yesterday's crowd was expected to be high and it was. We arrived about noonish at the parking structure and all lanes were open and the line was to the end of the structure. Later on the lines was backed up to Ball Rd. :crowded:

But onto the parade. My nephew met us and showed us where he would be performing by IASW. We got our spot at about 1:30 (I've never waited 2 hours for anything-but for my Nephew, no problem!). Unfortunately he going to be mostly on the East side of the street so we had to wait in the sun. :sunny: Turns out that the area where we waited was mostly filled with CM (Some who are also in CELEBRATE) and their friends and family. Everyone chatted and it made the time fly!

I started filming as soon as the performers came into view and stopped once they finished and started moving on. In total it was just under 17 min. So that should help with your viewing time figuring.

I will have pictures to post later-I need to get them from my DSis as I only shot video. I've never posted a video but I will figure it out later today and if successful, post it here. Right now, it's off to DD's softball game, have to be on the field at 8 a.m.!

Oh, and needless to say the park was crowded. Don't know if they closed it, I never heard, but I'm glad I planned ahead and made a PS at Cafe Orleans yesterday a.m. for 4:30 p.m. Even though we were 20 min. late for PS we were seated with 10 min-outside! :cloud9: I just love it when plans work out. Oh, and while we were waiting, DD and I went a got FP for Thunder Mountain. We rode after the parade while everyone else was still watching the next 2 stops. Turns out it was the only ride I did but it was still a very nice day. When we crossed over to DCA ToT had a 90 min. wait! :scared1:
