?? about Hotwire Savings Club rebate

Hi All

I joined Hotwire Savings Club and printed out the rebate form which says, you need to send it along with a copy of your email order confirmation. I ordered a lot of park passes, restaurant gift certs etc. I didn't receive an email confirmation so I emailed them. They said, in order to get the rebate, I had to purchase something through Hotwire (ie, hotel or car rental etc.) and that it had nothing to do with the Hotwire Savings Club. Is this right? In reading these boards, I definitely got the feeling it was for purchases made within the club. Also, why would you get the rebate link for signing up for the club, and then not be able to use it for purchases within the club? It really didn't make any sense to me, but wanted to verify through some other HSC members.......

Sounds like someone is misinformed or policy has changed drastically. I got my rebate by ordering gift certificates. No problem. I sent the rebate form + a copy of the order confirmation page for my purchase.

I also got my rebate from a saving's club purchase

and, they don't send you an email confirmation of your order- you have to print out your own.

The way I understand it is that only some items have a rebate, like gift cards. There was no rebate for my Q&C vouchers (at least I didn't think so).

One post said that you needed an active account to get the rebate? That means a regular credit card, right? I haven't ordered any gift cards yet.

there are 2 different rebates with Hotwire.
1- you get $10 back after making your 1st purchase- I think you can purcahse anything
2- you get rebates for buying things from Hotwire savings club. For example- if you buy a $25 gift card for Target, at the end of the month you get a $5 rebate credited to your credit card


As far as needing a credit card- my own personal experience is that you should ALWAYS use a credit card. You get protection that way.

I never rec'd email confirmation of any orders. I just printed the rebate form and sent a copy of the stuff I ordered along with it. My check came less than 2 weeks later. Hope this helps.
