Hi,

I'd like some information on the offsite hotel shuttles please. How early do they start running to the parks? How late back to the hotels? Can you take a shuttle back to your hotel for an afternoon break and go back later in the evening like at Disneyworld? Thank you!

The hotel shuttles I have used had 2 to 3 drop off times at the park and 2 pick up times and also the shuttles pick up at other hotels so you have to figure that in also.

You would have to get that information from your hotel. They have their own schedules.

We found our hotel shuttle was shared with other hotels. It had 2-3 pick up times in the morning and 2-3 in the afternoon/evening. We stayed right on International Drive. We found it was much easier to take a cab ($8 each way).

We stayed at the Doubletree at Universal and I heard they had a shuttle, but we never used it.

Several years ago, I stayed in a Comfort Suites (?) near Old Town and they had a shared shuttle that had 2 or 3 morning and 2 or 3 evening routes to US and SW [and I think 4 for WDW].

I stayed last year at Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista, and they have two drop off times and two pick up times. and the last pick up time is after the park closes. I will be staying there again this year. Love the hotel.. I am not a girl that needs fancy fancy .... just clean and a few ammenities... (safe, microfridge, and heated pool). great stay....

Most of the offsite hotels don't offer a shuttle HOWEVER there is a shuttle that goes around from hotel to hotel picking up guests to take them to which ever park you want to go to on a loop. I finally gave up on the service when I stayed at the Doubletree at the entrance of USO/IoA- by the time it got to the Doubletree, it was already full so it would skip us, but not before telling us that they'd be sending another shuttle. About an hour later, one arrived... fully loaded again

I'd either stay on-site or rent a car imho.

thanks for your responses. So I'm thinking the shuttles are not all that reliable, how about the public transportation like Mears or the I-trolley - do they take you from your hotel to a theme park? We don't want to rent a car to save money and we're just doing Universal, Sea World, and Aquatica this year. I think we're really spoiled from the Disney experience, their onsite transportation system is fantastic!

Where will you be staying? The 1-4 trolly is fine, but only makes stops along 1-4 & International Drive- while all of the parks you mentioned are close- none of the places you're wanting to go is ON the route. Depending on where you're staying, we can probably suggest the best means of transportation.

I haven't actually booked yet (although I soon will) I'm leaning toward Fairfield Inn International, Monumental Movieland, or the Rodeway Inn (it's hard, I think I'm reading too many reviews and they keep making me change my mind). I do want to stay on or close to International drive since with no car, I'd like to be able to walk to resteraunts and shops.

Sadly, you will not be able to return to your hotel for afternoon naps. While I've often complained about Disney's transportation system, it really is the best resort transport available.

I know you're trying to save money, but depending on when you are going, and the length of your stay, there are some great car rental rates due to the crappy economy right now. On the flip side, if you stay within a mile of the resort, you can always hail a cab if you find that your hotel's shuttle is not getting the job done. There is always a line of available cabs as you exit USO/IoA
