Hi,
We will be staying at FW in a cabin 11/8-11/17:cool1:. There will be six of us - 2 adults and 4 children (17,14,12,9). Can we rent a 4 person golf cart or will we need a six person one? And can we rent off-site for 10 days?
Thanks,
Maggie

you will need a 6 person cart from Steve / Golf & Electric Vehicles Group he is off site and has weekly rate around $350 a week Steve Senesi(407-947-2013)

The much longer answer is that Ft Wilderness only allows outsourcing to 2 different companies and the other company only rents 4-seaters, so you have no choice but to go with Discamper's recommendation.

If your kids were younger, you'd be able to get away with a 4-seater as long as everyone could fit. There will be six of us on one cart, but the kids are young enough and small enough that all of us can fit our butts onto a seat. In other words, no lap riding, standing, etc....only butts on seats.

I asked this question about a year ago, and it was suggested that for not too much more - that we rent two 4-person carts, instead of one 6-person cart.

The people who recommended this said that parking at the Fort would be easier to find for a 4-person cart ... and easier if some in the group wanted to go one direction while others were off in a different direction.

BTW, we haven't tried it yet - our trip is coming up in November.

This really is a great idea. I am sure the powers that be will give the driver of a 6-seater the slightest bit of latitude when it comes to parking temporarily, but for more than a 10 minute quickstop, I would imagine that a 6-seater is a pain to park.

I agree with everyone's answers and suggestions, :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
Really like that rent 2, "four-seaters" idea ,(if you can afford it) It'll give more space for everyone AND ya'll will have room to tote your fishing equipment down to the lake, :woohoo:

I have to add this. I have used 6 seater carts and it was difficult to get around lots of areas in the Fort. The Marina is very cramped and not a lot of turning room. After seeing you have a 17 yr old if thay has a driver licenses it may be better if you get two 4 seater carts. He will love to get away on his own cart to loop and hang out with people they meet. Take it from me we had 2 carts our last trip and the only time I saw it was when it was charging and he was a sleep. It is not much more for 2 carts but it does make thing a lot easer
