Nothing like waiting until the last minute. I just booked the Free Dining Package 10/2-10/9. I have an AP so I only opted for the 1 day Park Passes. It came to $1,328.88 for 5 of us at Port Orleans Riverside. We would spend that much just on food for a week. With Southwest doing $49 each way, I just couldn't pass it up.

Anyway, my question is, if we don't use the Park Passes (we didn't get anything on it like no expiration or park hopper) is it still good after our trip? The CM seemed to think not. They don't let you put the no expiration option on a 1 day. I know the ticket is our room key and our dining is also on it and we obviously will be using that. I thought that if you had more than one day on the park tickets and you used one then the rest had to be used within 14 days. But with a 1 day, there is some gray area. What do you think? It's not that big of a deal, I would just like to know. Thanks for the info.

I have the same question! I haven't purchased my annual passes yet can I put the one day toward it?

and wanted to take advantage of the dining plan in April.

Despite (or in spite) of what the CMs say, I have been told by reliable sources here on the DIS that as long as you do not use the 1 day pass (which would activate it and therefore it would be used and no good) it stays valid. Therefore you could use it any time. The non expiring option comes into play when you purchase a multi day pass.

Tickets w/o the non expiring option will expire within 14 days of FIRST USE. Therefore, once you put your ticket (or KTTW card) through the turnstile at a park, you have officially activated it and the 14 day clock starts running unless you have the non expire option.

Therefore, if you never put your one day ticket through the turnstile, it is not activated and will not expire. I have been told by several long time Disers that this is so. I had hoped to purchase 1 day tickets, put them away, and use them as credit against my AP renewal the following year. No matter how many people I asked at Disney, no one had the right answer.

You must go to Guest Relations IN THE PARK and ask the to apply the one day to your renewal. And when you do this, you must be sure a supervisor overrides the system and makes sure your AP renewal date is from the current expiration, not the date of the 1 day ticket (this is a default in the computer).

Hope this helps. At least this is the information I have gotten from the boards and what I plan to rely on, until I see posts from others who have done exactly this and found otherwise.
