Has anyone used the current park ticket promotion for Florida residents (Play Four Days), which is basically a half price 4 Day Hopper that expires in June?

If you have these passes, do they actually ask to see a Florida ID when you enter the park, or do you just scan them through like any other park tickets??

Just wondering. Thanks in advance for any information.

We have bought these several different times for different trips. We already have the vouchers for this year's trip.

do they actually ask to see a Florida ID when you enter the park,
They actually ask for FL ID (for all adults) when you turn your vouchers in for the tickets at the window. Once you have the "actual" tickets, nobody is going to ask for id at the turnstiles. There's no way to get the tickets themselves without the FL ID though.

I have relatives in Florida and they cannnot buy one for me to use. You have to be a FL resident. I imagie Disney has a system in place to enforce this.

If the question you're asking is "Can I use a FL resident ticket that a FL resident has purchased for me?" or "Can I borrow a FL resident's ticket and use it?", the answer to both of those questions is, technically, no. But ....

When a FL resident purchases a FL resident ticket, they must show valid FL ID for each ticket they purchase. If I, as a FL resident, want to purchase five tickets for me and my FL resident friends, they all need to be standing there with their IDs. I can't just show my ID and get five tickets.

However, if I have a FL resident ticket and I give it to my friend from Wyoming to use, there is little chance that they will be asked for a FL ID at the turnstile. However, I cannot give them a FL resident ticket I've purchased and then go purchase another one, as there will already be a record of me having purchased a FL resident ticket for this promotion. Which means that my friend using my ticket can get in, but I won't be able to join them unless I pay for a regular non-resident pass.

Does that make sense?

Plus for any AP, Florida Season Pass, or the Play 4 tickets you must have your photo ID with you...some times the finger scans have to be reset and you must provide a photo ID to prove who you are.

What admission media require the use of finger scans?

All WDW annual passes, Florida resident's annual, seasonal and specialty passes ("Play-4-Days", etc.) and other selected admission media such as extended admission passes sold in select European and Asian markets.

Sorry.

Anybody can buy the vouchers at AAA-as many as you want with no ID required. When you get to WDW and go to Guest Relations to turn the voucher in for an actual ticket, that's when they ask for ID. Once you have your actual ticket, you will not be asked for FL ID again.

We got them several years ago-before we discovered the joys of FL seasonal passes :p ! Yes, to turn the actual voucher into a ticket you will need a FL ID for each adult. THAT is the name that goes on the ticket and a finger measurement is done on that person (this is done at WDW only). So when you go through the gate-your ticket with you name has your finger "scan" on it. Only children under 10 do not have to have the ID or finger scan. Their names do go on the back however. This is the way a FL seasonal pass is done too.

On one of our trips this past year, my finger scan did NOT work. I was actually asked to show ID. They then reset the scan to that measurement.

This is not true. I have been asked to show my id approximately 30% of the time (my finger scan never seems to work.)

My in-laws used Play 4 Days Tickets on our last trip. While owning property in FL and spending a portion of the year there, they also "live" in OH. FIL has a FL picture ID & MIL had non-picture FL ID; FIL was able to purchase tickets for both.

MIL was asked to show picture ID on the second day of use and used an OH DL with no problem. Bottom line from our experience - FL ID required @ time of purchase; picture ID MAY BE required @ time of use. At appox. $120 for a 4 day hopper pass, they are a great value.

Additionally, I believe they may be upgraded (within a certian timeframe) to other FL resident passes.

A little off topic but, too bad as DVC owners, we can't qualify for some type of "honorary Fl. resident" or something to that extent!

When we went in Dec. 2000, we were able to show proof (the deed, I think) that we owned a timeshare in Orlando and were able to get the Florida resident pass. That was really cool. I had read about it in the UG. I tried and tried to find somewhere that said we could do that last year when we went, but never could. I also asked several times when calling WDW. That was a nice perk, but I guess they thought that was too far a stretch to call us "Florida residents". Gee, wonder why?:p LOL!!

Since the current ones expire June 4, does anyone know if there will be new ones for the summer? I can't remember last year...

Last year they were good all the way thru September(and we bought them in March).

I don't know the answer to your question but my guess is that either this is it for the year or that they'll do it again in the fall but won't have any discounted tickets for FL Ress for the summer
