?? about extra adult in the room fee?

So my daughter has decided to join us on our June trip which means an extra adult fee of 15 bucks plus tax a night. Sooooooo she is not there for all 8 nights. She is there for 5. Will I be charged the fee for the other 3 nights? They have her Magical Express info for her flights. She arrives two days after us and flies out one day before us. Obviously this is a way for Disney to make extra moola like other hotel chains. It always puzzles me as to why they do this except for a way to make money. Just curious!! Thanks!!

If you wait to add her just before she arrives (so she can use ME), you won't pay the extra fee for those nights she isn't there.

If you think this is a problem you don't want to book a hotel or cabin at Yellowstone. They charge for extra persons once they hit 13 yrs old.

We are staying for 8 nights and she is only coming for 2--it is $25 per night to add her because we are at the BC. If I wait to add her, then she can't book FP at the 60 mark, right? Any advice on how to handle this?

I will be having the same issue in May. i called and added my daughter and my grandson. They will only be there for 3 out of our 8 days. I'm just going to go to the front desk when I get there and plead my case. Maybe they'll sprinkle some pixie dust and change my fee just to the three nights. Either way I'll be so happy to have them both with us that I'm ready to pay the fee.

This is a room only at POFQ. I don't mind paying obviously but if I don't have to for those 3 nights I can spend that elsewhere! Lol

If you are staying at the BC, you need to make sure she is on the reservation from the start. You might wind up in a room that only sleeps four without a day bed. And, in that case, you'll have to pay for her extra fee every night of the reservation.

IF FP+ can be done at 30 days, you can add her after you get to WDW on her arrival day. Then, when she leaves, you can go with her to the front desk and have her removed from the reservation.

I would probably have her added to the reservation now and ask to have her temporarily removed (until the day she arrives) when you check in. Then go to the front desk and have her added to the reservation early on her arrival day, then go with her to have her taken off the reservation when she 'checks out' and is leaving. You shouldn't have to pay the extra fee on the days that she isn't there, but you will likely have to go to the front desk a few times to get it all worked out.

I have never had a problem removing them from the nights they are not there. Once, someone came with us and left early, another time someone came in the middle, and another time someone came for one night in the end. I did put them on my reservation for the entire thing from the start, but they were easily removed after we got there. Just go the front desk, tell them the nights she is there, and they will take her off for the others and you won't be charged. This has been my experience. Very easy.

What about the fast passes? Will those get messed up?

Her FP+'s are linked to her park ticket on MDE, not the resort reservation. Staying at the resort affects the timing only, AFAIK. Once you are past the 30 days, she will not lose her FP+ just because you take her off the resort reservation. She has a legitimate right to those FP+'s at that time.

To be sure: Don't remove her from the reservation until you arrive. Also take a printout of all the FP+ booked prior to going. (I do this all the time as a backup anyway. I just don't trust technology. Guess I'm too old! LOL!) Perhaps, they can leave her name on the reservation with a note attached to remove the extra charges at the end of her stay.

When you get to the resort, explain the situation to them. Double check that she will retain her FP+'s even if the extra fee is temporarily removed from the reservation. If they suggest it as a problem, ask them for a solution. You do not have to pay extra for the nights that she is not there.

It is all perfectly legitimate and should be fine. I have done this myself. It wasn't a problem for us, so, unless something has changed recently, I can't see how it would be a problem now.

Thanks! I will inquire at check in. We usually always stay on points so this is usually not an issue with DVC.

She will be staying with us the first 2 nights of the vacation. Good to hear that you didn't have any trouble removing your guest at the BC. Sounds like the best plan is to add her for the trip and then have the BC remove her from the last 6 nights.

Yes, that will work! easy to do! I would let them know at check in that she would be leaving in two days PLUS go with her when she 'checks out' to get her removed from the reservation at that time.

As long as the extra person has a ticket linked and is one of your linked friends on MDE (not sure of the correct terminology) you can get fast passes for them at 60 days with yours even if they aren't on your hotel reservation. I did this this month for our adult daughter who lives in Orlando. She has a AP and is linked to my MDE, but is not listed on our reservation. I had no problem getting FP+ for her and her boyfriend along with ours. We may add her to our hotel reservation when we check in if she decides to stay with us.
