?? about earning disney pts on visa

We just recieved our disney visa in the mail today and I want to accru (sp?) as many pts as possible before our wdw trip in July. I am going on a trip to vegas in june. I know I will put our plane tickets on there soon, but if I put my rooms, food, and everything else on there in june around the 12th will I have points for it to transfer to a card I will order in June so I have it in time by the beginning of July? How long does it take to credit points to your acct?

Also, if I do things like buy groceries, gas, car payments ect with my card and for example, lets say I go and spend 100.00 at walmart tomorrow, can I come home and make a payment on the card for 100.00 to cover my walmart purchase, and still get my points? That way I am not letting a balance add up, but I am still charging the purchase. I am just paying it off within 24-48rs after I make the charge? I am afraid to wait to the end of the month to pay. That could get me into trouble.

It depends on when you receive your statement. My new statement cycle begins on the 5th of every month, for example. So on March 5, I will receive points for whatever I spent in February. If I spent $584, for example, I would get 6 points added to my balance on March 5. (So they don't get added in as you spend.) If I ordered a card now, only my current balance would be on the card.

Yes, you can make a payment - I'd wait until the purchase is no longer pending, though. They don't take away your points for payments, or even for returns which is a good thing to know.

as listed above, the points post on your statement date, and they are calculated based on total purchases, so if you make a payment it doesn't work against you. on the plus side, once you have the rewards card you can shift points from your account almost instantaneously over the phone (we've done it in line for the ticket booth at Disneyland before)
