How do I get a downloaded font (from DaFont if it matters) into Photoshop Elements? Do I open it or will it show up under text? The web site says I may need to relaunch. Do they mean I need to reinstall?:confused3 TIA.

I am using Windows XP and Photoshop Elements. I save the font to my desktop, then double clik on the zip file. Select "Extract all files". Choose "next". Browse, Select "my computer", select "Local Disc: C", select the "windows" folder, Select the "fonts" folder. Select "OK". Select "Next". Select "Finish". Then a window opens with all my fonts in it to show me the font was installed.

I don't have to reboot, restart or anything. I just go to PSE and the font is there in the font dropdown box. Hope this helps.

After installing it the way Kari said I find that clicking on it and opening from the font folder seems to let the computer know it's here.

Thank you for your help. It hasnt' worked yet, but I'll keep trying! Does it matter that it's in "my downloads"? Is that where it is supposed to be? I go through your steps. I don't get a "next", but everything else is the same. When I do all that, then extract files, it's not in there. Thanks for your help!

Another option on a Windows system is the control panel.

Click Start > Settings > Control Panel

Fonts is in the list - right click and select "Open"

Under the "File" menu - select "Install new font"

find the font file you have downloaded in the "Folders" panel (bottom left) - then click OK

That should make the font available to any and all applications - including PS.

The font file must be in the fonts folder in order for the computer to find it. You can move the unzipped file there or install it the way Babboo said. I usually place it there in the unzipping process. Then I click on the folder in the fonts folder to view the font. Not sure why but on my system doing that helps to get the computer to "see" it.

It's not working!!!!!!!!!! Do I really need Waltograph that badly?! I'll try moving it from the unzipped to the font file tommorrow! I'm done, and going to bed!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all of the help. One of those tips should work!
