I have a different type of server story to tell. We took our twins for their 3rd Birthday's on the 7 day cruise March 2001. Their b-days fell on the 2nd day of the cruise. DH and the kids were so wiped out from traveling and the time change we didn't make it to our regular dining rotation (and it was formal night). I saw on the navigator that there was open seating at Topsiders, so we took a chance. The food was just as terrific as in the dining room and they have a kids menu. Well, when the server came to take our dessert order I explained that today was the kids b-days and we missed regular dining and they will miss out on the birthday cake. She said she would see what she could do. She came back 5 minutes later with a Happy Anniversary cake (hey they're only 3-they can't read!) and she had all the servers come over and sing Happy Birthday to them!!! DH happened to have his wallet on him, so I had him slip her a few $$ for the effort. Goes to show you, even the nonregular servers go out of their way!
