? about deposit when renting

Hi Everyone, thanks for taking a minute to read this.. I am wondering when you rent out points how much of a deposit do you ask for and when is it due ? I am considering Oct 31 2004 to Nov 5 2004-ck out- ( Sun to Thursday) at BWV studio ( one adult and 2 kids 10yrs, 8yrs ) .. Thanks for your help Michelle

There's a FAQ thread at the top of this board that may help answer your questions. I believe the deposit and terms are up to the owner. I am renting points in September. My terms are 1 nights rent for deposit and the balance 45 days prior to the first night. Some owners like to have 1/2 at reservation, half 60 days before. It's a matter of trust for both parties, so both need to feel comfortable with the arrangement.

I am renting points to someone in November and i asked for 10% when they got the confirmation and the remainder is due 60 days out.this is how i have always done when i rent out points,which i have only rented to 2 other people.

I request 25% when they see the confirmation in their name and the remainder at 90 days out, non refundable. If the timing would put the points in grave danger ("is there any other kind") I'd alter my terms accordingly.

LOL, I guess I'm a man of many talents. I'd tell you more but "You can't handle the truth!".

I am trusting my DVC owner with my ressies for 9 nights and 262 points. I know the confirmation no: checked out ok . I am sending her the full amount since its only 70 days til our trip. Like the guidelines say - there has to be trust on both parts. Its as much a gamble for the DVC holder as for the renter

Since this has now become a discussion- and not a reservation request or offering of points for a reservation- it is better suited for the DVC Board.
