We are planning a Dec trip and I was just wondering what extras are going on at that time of the year. I have read about the christmas party and hope to get tickets for it. What goes on at Epcot and Downtown Disney, etc. Do they have fireworks and nighttime parade in mid-Dec at MK? Thanks.

Hi, me4disney! You'll get more answers if this were posted on the Theme Park Attractions and Strategies board, so I'm moving it over there. Please checkthe Theme Park Attractions and Strategies board for further replies. Thanks! :)

They have MVMCP (Mickey's Very Merry Christas Party) at Magic Kingdom. This is a separte admission, after regular park hours. This has a speical parade, special stage shows, hot chocolate, cookies and you get a picture taken. Be sure to do this early in the night.

MGM will have Osborne Lights, this can be seen with regular park admission.

Epcot has Candlelight processional, with guest narrators. You can stand outside of the outside theater and see and hear the show, or you can purchase the dinner package. This includes dinner at one of the countries (3 different price ranges) and entry into the seating area of the American theater. (first come first sit)

Downtown Disney has choral things going on.

All of Disney is decked out with Christmas cheer. WL resort has a beautiful tree, etc.

enjoy:D

This is an extra magical time of year at WDW.

1. Make time to visit the resorts each is decorated with the theme in mind. You might want to visit GF where carols begin at 4pm followed by the band and the piano. They even have roasted chestnuts on some nights. They have a huge gingerbread house that sells the cookies in the lobby. Or you might want to go to FW where all the campers get in the xmas mood by decorating their campsites. Some have animation and music, incredible displays.

2. MK - many love MVMCP. Check the dates. But dont miss the tree lighting ceromony everyday in Town sq. Arrive at 5pm so you can see the moving Flag ceromony and then the little show and lighting follow.

3. Osbourne Lights - You have never seen this many xmas lights in one place. We usually have dinner at Mama Melroses then stroll over to enjoy this beautiful display. We really missed them last year.

4. CP - The telling of the biblical xmas story by a celebrity narrator who is surrounded by a full orchestra and choir. The show is the best at wdw and is sure to get you in the xmas mood. I would suggest the CP Dinner Pkg. it includes dinner, a discount on merchandise at EC and reserved seating for the show. This is a very popular show, many times the standby line will be an hour or more.

5. Yultide Tour -Visit three parks, a resort and the xmas warehouse with a guide who relates the traditions of the many holidays celebrated and an insiders view of just how Disney decorates WDW and the cruise ships.

6. Holidays Around the World - Enjoy the lighted bridge to FW and the many holiday storytellers who share their xmas stories from their native lands. Dont worry Santa is at the American Pavillion.

The fireworks and Spectromagic Parade are not every night. Spectromagic often is only 1 or 2 nights a week. The fireworks at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party(MVMCP) is a special holiday firworks. The parade at MVMCP is the daytime parade they do during Christmas week. In EPCOT in World Showcase the countries have story tellers who are like the Santas from thier countries. The whole WDW are is decorated for the holidays. If you have time I would recommend going around to different resot hotels at WDW and check out thier decorations. They also have holiday behind the scenes tours also. The DIS and Deb's web sites have alot of good info on them. The caracters at the outside greetings are also dressed for the holidays.

Best time of the year, IMO. So much to do, decorations, great weather, low crowds (early in month), value season.
