I am purchasing a small contract through resale with the intent of adding on later when I have more money saved. I would like to book a studio at BWV in the last two weeks of August 2008. Is that a time that I should be concerned about booking day to day right on my 11 month window? I might not even have passed all the red tape by that time.

I do not think you will have to book day by day to get a BWV studio ressie during the last 2 weeks of August. I think that even a BW view or a SV would be available for awhile into the BWV owners ressie period.:wizard:

I hope you get your contract!

Congratulations and (almost) :welcome: HOME!

If you're purchasing now, there's a good chance your paperwork will be done by the end of September, including your being in the system (unless there are unusual circumstances, two months should be enough time).

IMO, it's worth the extra "hassle" to do day-by-day booking in order to ensure that you get a less-available booking, such as standard or BW view. If preferred view is okay, you shouldn't have to do it. :thumbsup2

What is dtd booking? what is the purpose of it; what are the pros and cons of it; how do you do it?

Say your reservation is December 3 to 8. You could wait until January 8 at the 11 month window to book the entire reservation. However, that is a very popular time and other members will be calling in for dates around the same time. So on January 4, you call and book December 3 which checks out on December 4. On January 5, you call and extend the reservation to include the night of December 4, so your checkout date is now December 5. You keep doing this (extending the reservation) until you get all your nights. During a very popular time, if you wait until your actual checkout date (December 8), chances are the first nights will already be gone. I reserved that week last January and I called around 2:00pm for the first night and the cm told me that night was almost soldout. So I would not have got it if I waited.

Pros: You are more likely to get what you want. It's really only needed for popular times or room sizes (grand villas).
Cons: You do have to call everyday (except Sunday). After they setup the reservation on the first day, doing the extensions is pretty quick.

For the end of August, I don't think you have to worry. I booked a reservation at BWV for early May next year (1 bedroom) and called a week past 11 months and had no problem getting a boardwalk view.
