? about CRO ressie

I made an additional resservation for next spring. (added on to the beginning of the trip). Want to keep two ressies because not sure if we will need the beginning or not. (hoping SOG will be open).

Anyway I just received my confirmation today. I have a twelve digit number, so its not WDTC.

It lists a *4 night AAA room only package* (yes, I did get a AAA rate)
Remaining package amount $ XXXX is due by XXXX **No additional notices will be sent*

So my questions are these:

Since when is a room only considered a package?
Why is the balance due prior to arrival?

Did I miss something?
Is this the way it will be since CRO and WDTC *merged*?

The same thing "happened" to us in September when we booked a DC discount at POR for room only. I don't know why it's considered a package, but we had a choice of freebies with it --- free round of mini-golf or luggage tags I think were the other option. We used it for mini-golf. I suppose that because it's considered a package is why the money is due prior to departure --- the only time I was able to pay at check-in and not prior to departure was as an AP holder with an AP discount.

We have had reservations through WDTC that had the *package* attached to it. Either free mini golf or Wide World of Sports. This reservations does not have either of those package freebies, thats why I don't understand the advance payment and the term *package*. Is it because of the AAA discount? My reservation for the end of the trip doesn't have any of those statements on it. Now I am even more confused.

Hi kimmie,

I had the exact same senario with CRO. I called back and asked about the term "package" and was assured that a AAA discount on a room only ressie is just that and not a package in the true sense of the word. She said because it is a special discount the computer just uses that designation. It still follows the payment form for any CRO room only ressie. BTW, we have no freebies attached to our ressie.

My AAA discounted, room-only reservation for June says 4 night package also. There is nothing about payment due ahead of time either. I would be confused about your confirmation statement also. It does not sound right.

For upcoming February trip we were originally going to split the stay between POR and POP with a AAA discount. When we received our confirmations, the POP ressie had the same language as kimmie's that said that the remainder of the package for POP was due 1-2 months before our stay. The POR ressie had no such language. I did not push the question as we have since cancelled our POP ressie and we are going to stay the entire time at POR.
