we have res. for the behind the scenes tour at ak, we have to be there by 8:15, will we have a problem getting a bus by 7:30 from the lodge since the park doesn't open till 9.

busses start getting dispatched at 7AM. You should have no problem.

I would think you have more of a problem if you drove. The parking lot doesn't open until 8AM and there usually is a long line of cars waiting.

This is true, and a very good point. Often times, I would drive right on by, and see the line of cars backing up at the entrance.
