I was wondering has anyone flown out of Midway with ATA? How was there service? Were the flights on time ect... They quoted me a price of 184.00 is that a good price? Thanks!

We prefer ATA because they fly non-stop to MCO from MDW and MDW is just a few minutes from our house. They have always been on time when we've flown them although when we mention ATA we hear many groans from people who say that they have the worst "on time" record of any carrier. That definitely hasn't been our experience. They are a no-frills carrier, meaning usually just a small snack (sometimes only peanuts) but they more than make up for it in price. The cheapest rate we've gotten from them to MCO was $118 + tax roundtrip and that was in late October. I'm not sure what your travel dates are, but you can try www.orbitz.com for a comparison using the same dates.

I have used them numerous times and have never had a problem with them. They also have one of the newest fleets in the air, recently replacing their 727s with new 737-800s and also 757s. As the the person mentioned they are a fairly low frills with no first class section and no food service. At least not from MDW to MCO. However none of the major airlines is serving food at this point either as far as I know.

Ata from midway! No problems, usually on time, only been delayed at midway for weather once. Biggest problem and not in orlando but on return trip home, the baggage at midway TAKES FOREVER! We arrived and they had 4 planes unload baggage from same carousel, although others were not in use, and finally over an hour later of standing there our flight started it's baggage and took about 15 to 20 minutes for it to unload. So make sure to take your time, potty break, snack stop, whatever and then look for your baggage. MKY:rolleyes:

No problems here either. We fly to Orlando a lot (9 times coming up in 2002) and we generally fly ATA unless United or American will match their price. The only significant delay we ever encountered was weather-related (it snowed so bad that O'Hare was closed...I was amazed that Midway remained open and that we did eventually get home that night). They are a no-frills airline, but most of the others have eliminated food service now, so there isn't much difference unless you are used to flying in first class. Their new 757s are great. We have flights on ATA booked for both March and April, and I'm sure we'll be flying them several more times this year. The only downside is that I can't locate an offsite parking lot at Midway.

$184 sounds okay, I'm paying $245 for March 21-27th. High room rate at the POR also. I'm praying for an AP rate to come out...

Thanks for all your responses! Do you think I will be able to get a lower rate with ATA? Should I wait on airfare for now?:D
