? about AP's newbie

We are going on our first trip as DVC members late November. I have never planned our previous trips to DisneyWorld but relied on travel agents to do so (including getting our tickets etc)
I have a few questions about AP's so that I can make sure I am doing this correctly.

1) Is it true that I can purchase AP's once I get to DisneyWorld (we are staying at SS this time and from my research it seems we can purchase at Downtown Disney? (and can I use my Disney Rewards points to do so?)

2) If I purchase AP's and we make another trip to DisneyWorld in early Nov. 2012, I am assuming these AP's would be valid and would save us $$ as far as admissions to parks for that trip. Is that correct?

and finally

3) do AP's automatically include park hopping or is that extra?

You can purchase AP's at any guest relations office, including the one at DTD.
YES you can use DDR points card toward or for the purchase - make sure to take your DVC membership ID card, as you can get a significant discount (like $100).

Yes you AP lasts for a full year so you can use them prior to their expiration date....it would save the holder of the AP from having to buy anything more to gain park admission

Yes, that is included.

You can purchase APs at DTD need DVC membership card and everyone needs to live at the same address . They include park hoppers. They are good for 1 yr so you would need to return earlier in Nov 2012 than you went this yr. Exp date is printed on the AP. Don't know about Disney rewards.
