? about adding a room on with my already 40% off room

I'm wondering...
I booked a room for Sept at AKL with the 40% off code, I had a pin.
I'm wondering if I added another room on, can I still get the 40% since it will be the same reservation?
Here's the situation...
We got the room for 9/22-29th
Our friends want to come with us to Disney again this year. I told them maybe I can get them a room under my name with the 40%.
Please help if you can... thanks!
 
It wouldnt still be the same reservation. Each room is almost always separate reservations. I think there are some cases where they end up booking one but I'm not even sure they do it at all anymore. So since it would have to be a second reservation and it is past the cut off date I'd say no. However calling disney and trying, even doing the suggestions given to people who want to change their ressies...when you get told no by the initial phone cm ask to speak with guest relations, would be the thing to do. You never no for sure what will happen. They dont even seem to know for sure what will happen lol.
 
Why not call CRO and find out? It shoud take only a couple of minutes to get an answer.

Thanks, I'm going to call them after work. I was just curious right now, since my friends are coming over right after work, so I hope it will work, if not, I told them to cross their fingers for free dining!:goodvibes

Your odds on this seem unlikely. Even moving resorts on the same dates can be VERY tricky with this discount code.

You can call and they'll say no.. then ask for Guest Relations to see if there is anything they can do.

If anyone can do this for you .. it's the division of Guest Relations that DRC (formerly CRO) deals with when they have questions or problems.

I'll warn you up front.. Technically this is a new booking and the booking deadline for that promo was March 15th. So be prepared to be told no dice.

Thanks for the info. I was doubting I would be able to do this. I just hope my friends can get some sort of discount, we all got the free dining last year and that was great. This year the 40% code saved the hubby and I more money than free dining would have since we're staying in a deluxe resort this time.
 
I just tried to add a day to my existing reservation and was totally shut down!
I highly doubt they will do this but I will kep my fingers crossed for ya!:wizard:

I was originally informed they *should* be able to.. but I've since been informed that they may also see "No availability" when .. in fact .. Guest Services might be able to help.

I had posted as you know that I changed a resort with calling the CM first who then had to get guest services on the other end to help. where the code is "closed" the CM's just do not see it in the computer and I think that the GS's have to pull up or apply the code to the ressies. I just called again today to change my resort for my DEC trip and the CM did not see any codes, and I asked her to talk to GS's she did, and was able to offer me another resort for that Dec time.

The picking I am sure are very slim, if you happen apon someone that will actually HELP you look for this ....it is like pulling teeth!! Good luck:)
 
Well I called and they still would not let me have it, the promo starts on the 9th of December. The 8th is available at CSR for full rate.
I think my chances are better to get my room request if I check in on a Sunday anyway right? I dont even have my airfare yet so if I do decide to fly in on the 8th I will just use my AAA to book at the Pop for one night. It will be an adventure anyway!:cool1:

OOOOH.. see.. that's important.. Your check-in date cannot move outside the date range of the promo.. NO exceptions.

OK, well last night I called and was told that since the promotion is over, I can not add a room onto my already booked package. The CM 'tried' but said it wouldn't let him. So, last night my friends booked AKL STANDARD room with a request to be somewhat near us (we have savannah view) Their total was about $2700, but I told them it's possible to get free dining. The reason why they booked lastnight was because they def. want to go, free dining or not, and they didn't want to wait until free dining comes out, just in case that if it did, they wouldn't have a room available at AKL.
So that's the story!

See, I'm thinking it may not because I would be booking them a room, tickets and dining under my name, I guess it would be under my name, because i'm the one that can get the 40% off.
Maybe I'll try calling again later... I feel like I'm annoying every time I call though!! I have this vision that they see I'm calling again and the CMs roll their eyes :lmao:
 
Well.. you may be told no.. but Guest Services may be able to do this for you (depending on availability.. )

Worst that happens is they tell you no. Which has pretty much already happened right? ;)

If you do then have the CM transfer you to Grand Gatherings. They will give you a grand gathering number which will keep you all grouped in the same area for your room and dining. You just have them put the Grand Gathering number on each ressie and ADR.

Just yesterday I booked another room in Dec for a friend with the dining plan, tickets and stay. I did get the discount.

But I did it that way threw Grand Gatherings since we will have 10 people going when we added our friends.

I asked her if I would lose my discount when I did this and she said no. She didn't mention giving me the discount on the new reservation and I didn't ask for it. We chatted while she did her thing about everything. I was nice and relaxed and talking about our last visit, our kids etc. I don't know if that helped but it certainly didn't hurt lol.

She gave us a preferred room at Pop for 8 nights, with park hoppers and dining for 2 adults and a 2 yr old for 1504.00. When I priced it online it was going to be 2008.00 So I figure we got the 40 % off their room.

So it's worth a shot for you to try doing it this way. I only did this yesterday too. March 28th.

You might want to double check that they have the reservation they way you said. It just caught my eye to see a 500 discount at a value since I had ran the numbers a lot when the deal first came out. To make sure all the specifics were the same I put it in disney's website and came up with 2008 as well. 40% off room rate would be a discount of 338. 2008-338= 1670. So where might the difference be? well rack rate for 2 adults, 1 child under 3 for 8 nights at pop with 8 day park hopper tickets (NO dining) = 1384.56, add insurance to that (119.90) and you get 1504.46. Just what they quoted you? Insurance is automatically added if you dont tell them not to. Some cm's will quote without it some wont. several people have had it happen where they thought they got a way good deal only to find out that the dining had been left off.
