About 33 days out and bursting with excitement

Hello everyone.

Thought I'd give a short pre-trip report a shot. Bare with me, it probably won't be very good...haha...but I do encourage crowd participation.

So, how about a little back story.

I'm 23, and a recent college graduate who is still finding his feet in the real world.:scared1: Last year, before my impending graduation, I REALLY wanted to go to Disney with my girlfriend. It had been awhile since I had gone to Disney (Disney is a very important part of my life for many reasons, not the least are for therapeutic reasons) and I thought it was a perfect time due to the stress of graduation.

To make a long story short, the ski seasons in Vermont have been awful the last couple of years. My DGF, at the time, worked at a ski resort. As I'm sure you can all understand this equaled less hours and less money. Less money = no way for Disney.

Well fast forward to July. Yours truly has graduated and has been working and saving a lot, so has the DGF. One night, we decided to buy the plane tickets (great rate from Southwest out of Manchester, NH)! We hadn't booked any of the Disney trip though, but we bought the plane tickets to force us into booking the trip. Fast forward a little more to when the rates for 2008 were released, and I booked a 8 day/7night stay at POP. WE WERE FINALLY GOING!

The couple months after that were pretty uneventful. Making the occasional dinner reservation (raglan road and california grille so far), and planning the occasional day and trying to decide what type of park tickets to get. Ho-Hum, it's been a long countdown.

However, the last couple weeks, I've been getting the urge to surprise my girlfriend a little bit. I had read some reviews of POP, and while generally positive a couple things bothered me; most notably noise complaints. I neglected to mention before that I am currently training for a marathon that I'm going to be running on Dec. 9 down in Dallas. So this trip to Disney, while packed with fun, absolutely has to be simultaneously restful. This means that noise, while fine in moderation, can't be a focal point of my trip. I've also been concerned that my DGF may be bothered by the noise too, so as a surprise x-mas/new years present I upgraded hotels to Port Orleans Riverside!!!!!

That's it for now! But I'm just hoping you can all share some of my excitement for my long overdue trip to World done right! Please ask questions if you feel so inclined.
