??about 2 Mexican Restaurants in Epcot

Have never been to either. What is the main difference? Are the menus a lot different??
Also have a picky daughter (she is 15....oh boy) and don't know if she will eat anything. Would they be able to make something plain for her...even chicken tenders would do. Or could she sit with us and not eat? (and not use a table service credit) ??

My husband, son and I love Mexican food....my daughter is the reason why we have never dined at either restaurant.

I have only dined at San Angel Inn. The ambiance is amazing. You will get a ton of mixed reviews about the food, some love it and some do not. Someone on here once said it was mexican and not tex mex and they thought there would be nacho cheese sauce on most stuff so it was awful food. The food in the past was not as quality and over the last few years it has really upped it as well, so some may reference that. You can look at the menu on this website. It is one of the most beautiful themes in disney though and my extended family all loved it and feeling like we were dining on a mexican street by the river at night.

For kids, Looks like they have a chicken tender over pasta with tomato sauce. You could ask for it all on separate plates.

I would go to the dining tab, restos, menus and see which seems the most appealing to you.

Take a look at both menus, they are quite different. If I remember right, the Inn serves more Southern Mexican, while Hacienda serves more Northern (I could easily have those backwards!) Keep in mind that the food is closer to authentic Mexican than you may expect (it's still Americanized, but not to the extent that your typical TexMex place may serve.)

As far as quality, they're both quite good and both have been my favorites in the past (the variance is due solely to the menu, since Hacienda removed the Arrachea (NY Strip), Inn has pulled ahead).

We've only been to San Angel Inn, but love it there. DD13 ordered tacos off the kids menu with no problem in April as she finds the adult food too spicy here. We were not on the dining plan, so not sure how that would change things! I believe that DD9 had cheese quesadillas--that's pretty much her standard order at Mexican restaurants around here...or chicken tenders. We came here in April 2010 with people with gluten allergies, and they were able to make them items off the menu--corn tortilla based dishes vs. flour tortillas. My favorite at San Angel is the Mole poblano--chicken in a mole sauce (usually ground nuts, spices, chocolate, etc.) We love the gourmet Margaritas here as well. As far as differences--I believe that La Hacienda has a lot of grilled items--you won't find any grill items at San Angel. La Hacienda doesn't do the TIW discount, so I don't see us eating there anytime soon...

I agree with those that say go with the menu that most appeals to you. We have dined in both restaurants and they are both wonderful. In the past San Angel Inn was average, at best. Recently, however, they have stepped up their game and the food is fantastic. Both restaurants are run by the same company so the quality of food is comparable. It really comes down to which one appeals more to you.

The menus are different, but both very good. To your second point, my son is autistic and very particular about what he eats. I did not have him with me when I visited San Angel, but when we ate at La Hacienda, they were very accommodating with your exact suggestion of chicken tenders. Great restaurants!

We wanted to eat at the Mexican restaurant on our next trip, but didn't realize there were 2. Can someone tell me which one is inside the pyramid and where the other one is located? I never realized there were 2 table service restaurants for one country.

San Angel is in the pyramid. La Hacienda is in a separate building across the promenade from the entrance to the pyramid, on the edge of the lagoon.

Just FYI, France, Japan and Italy each also have two table service restaurants.

Having raised 2 picky eaters ( with very different tastes) I offer this advice:

Stop accommodating them, at the expense of your own enjoyment

Show the menus, explain that is where you will be dining.

I totally agree with this as well!

She doesn't have to eat there if she doesn't want too. There are certain restaurants that my son doesn't like in WDW and he won't eat so I save a TS. He ends up getting a QS.
