:lovestruc For the first time in 4 years my DH has agreed to go to Disney with us next year (that will be 5 years, oh my). We will be me, DH, DS 14, DD 20. So If I borrow points from my next use year, I can afford a 1 bedroom. Obviously, DD20 and DS14 will not be sharing that sofa bed. Nor am I willing to sleep with DD while hubby sleeps with DS. I want to share the king size with my hubby, it might be another 5 years before he agrees to Disney again!

The kids are willing to alternate nights between sofa bed and an aero bed. Is there space in the 1 bedroom unit for the aero bed? What size, would a full size fit? Or would it have to be a single size?

I can't afford a 2 bedroom, and I can't afford to add on right now (working on it though).

Oops I think this should be on the planning board.

How about trying something different and going for AKV? If you plan to go after about May 09 then Kidani Village will be open and the 1 beds have a double sofa and single sleeper sofa plus an extra bathroom! If before then the Savanna and standard view at the main lodge have the double and single sofa but no additional bathroom.

Thanks for the suggestion. That would be a great idea, but we are going in President's week. That's my daughter's reading week from university, so booking 7 months out would be pretty risky.

Although if KV opens by early 09 the booking window may be alot less for both AKV owners and other DVC owners. Best bet is book BWV now and then wait and see what happens over the coming months.

Thanks I already have booked. What I really wanted to find out was if we can fit an aero bed into the 1 bedroom.

Any Boardwalk 1 bedroom people out there?

BWV Standard View 1BR is our favorite room class, particularly the ones with the bus stop view, where you can see IllumiNations over the conference center every night.

You should be in good shape with a single aerobed; a full might possibly fit, but I am certain of a single. The BWV 1BRs are a bit larger than the BCV/ VWL standard, which in turn are larger than the SSR 1BRs. OKW are positively palatial in terms of space by comparison tho. What we do for sleeping in a 1BR is boys' bed and girls' bed, with DS and me on the pull-out and DD and DW in the master, but different strokes for different folks.

Ah, and "reading week"; I remember getting that at McGill in my undergrad days. All of my friends from home (Maine) got Spring Break, but we got reading week, which was a bit more serious sounding.

We have our BWV Standard View 2BR booked for that week (bringing Grandma, so need 2BR), so we'll see you there, unless we shift to Vero Beach at 7 months like DW wants.

We stayed in a 1BR at BWV in December, and DD14 & DS11 were not going to share a bed! We even had to make the schedule up before we left of who was on sofa sleeper & who got the aerobed for each night

We had our twin aero set up between the foot of the sofa bed and the TV armoire. We also had a small Christmas tree set up in the room :santa: I think it might be possible to fit a full size aero in the room, you'd need to move some furniture around.

Thanks for the replies. I feel better now.

It's nice to see that someone else had to plan around "reading week" and survived.

Maybe we'll see you there Pumpkin Boy.

You'll be tight but fine, enjoy your trip. Whether you need more points may depend on how your kids approach this in the next few years. If they want to go and take a friend vs not go (or can't due to work/school) will affect your plans a lot. We're past that now, we just go without them. Called my son (the roller coaster freak) from line from EE (Everest) on preview weekend to rub it in a little. Got both the preview and special DVC pins and put them up with my things though I did share one of each with a friend who was a DVC member and going through a tough time, unfortunately she lost the battle. With her passing and another DVC member leaving our employ, I'm all alone again at work.

we've used an twin aerobed (same situation: a DD & a DS) in the BW 1bdrm without a prob.
the "real" aerobeds inflate & deflate in literally under a minute, so we only had it out & inflated during bedtime, not affecting us in the least during waking hours.

We didn't have a "real" aerobed, but what we did was move the air mattress into the huge closet off the bathroom during the day.

There was enough room to open the sofa and fit the twin mattress between the sofa and the TV. It worked for the 4 of us.

And if you move to OKW, the Aerobed doesn't have to be moved to keep it from interfering with the use of the room.

Stayed at SSR in one bedroom for Spring break this year. BWV have the same set up. Used the pull out and a full size aero bed as the kids will not sleep with each other. It was tight but the kids did not care. We deflated the aerobed in the morning and then just plugged it in every evening. Less than a minute to inflate. This way we were not tripping over it during the day. I will not waste the points for a 2bdrm anymore if it is just the four us ever again!!!

When you enter the BWV one bedroom there is an area around the door that may be large enough to put the bed down too.

Agree with Diane ...OKW has plenty of room for multiple aero beds in a 1-bedroom!! :) But, BWV should have plenty of room for an aero bed too!!

Enjoy your vacation!
