I just had my first abnormal too! I'm going August 1st for my re-scrape. I was really upset when they called... I've kind of calmed down now. :grouphug:

I've gone through the colposcopy, several biopsies, Cryosurgery, and the LEEP as well. Then had to go every 6 months until it was normal for 3 years. A few years later had another abnormal one, this time turned out to be nothing. If you have any questions feel free to PM me. Try to stay positive. :grouphug:

I remember havine an abnormal pap when I was 19...it was my first pap! Boy, did I freak out! Had the colposcopy, and all was well. Had another abnormal pap, and another. Broke up w/boyfriend, after that they were all normal!

 Don't stress, I'm sure you will be fine!

I've had the abnormal too.............just had to go back after 6 months instead of a year, and then it was normal...........

I've let my Pap slide since the one right after DS was born.....................hmmm, I've missed one entirely and am due for another............better get that scheduled!

I have had so many abnormal paps followed six months later by normal paps. My doctor said that your cervix changes during your cycle. Having a pap at the wrong time in your cycle can produce an abnormal pap.

Even if it turns out to be something, it is most likely in the very, very early stages and can easily be fixed.

Now, when my doctor finds out that I've had an abnormal pap, he doesn't call me until six months later to have another test. This way I don't worry needlessly about it.

Please try not to worry at this point. I read Pap smears for a living. There are many reasons you may be having additional tests. Some smears have too much inflammation or blood or not enough cells to give a diagnosis. There are many gray areas that require further testing. Please don't assume the worst. I am keeping good thoughts for you! Please PM me if I can answer any questions for you! God Bless!

Prayers and pixie dust to you! It's great you're following up on it and getting yourself checked...some women wait too late or never follow-up, unfortunately.

God Bless! :goodvibes

I too had a adnormal pap--a couple times, i had a biopsy and it came back everything was ok...they have all came back normal since then :flower: try not to worry :grouphug:
