She is entitled to her opinion; however, just the fact that she has retained the name Disney means she has no problem capitalizing on the power of that name. I'm sure that opened many doors for her.

It’s more complicated than that. Read Neal Gabler’s book to get a better idea about what was going on with that strike and the situation the studio was in at the time. Obviously Disney wasn’t a saint, no one is, but reality is a bit more nuanced than a quick google search would lead you to believe.

Excellent book with what seems to be a very realistic portrait of who Walt actually was. Gabler was the first author allowed unlimited access to the archives instead of just what Disney wanted authors before him to see. It’s a must-read for Disney history buffs. Some library systems have it.

I read "The Triumph of American Imagination". I would really recommend it to any Disney fan.

Thank you! That one is more easily available/cheaper it looks like. I'm guessing the other one has been out of print for a while, more expensive and less places selling it.

I believe "Walt Disney: The Biography" was a first copy, and "The Triumph of American Imagination" is a second edition with more content. I may be wrong, though. I've also read Triumph and it's probably my favorite biography.
