I didn't plan on doing a trip report this time but after several first time experiences like Candlelight Processional I felt compelled to share. It was after Abigail Breslin had hosted CP that I realized what a special trip this was.
There was a private party, a dinn errr, I'm getting ahead of myself.
The genesis of this trip was last summer at a minor league baseball game. Several of us, including the gang from my first trippie were there, and a friend named John. We were talking about some of the things we did on that trip and John complained that I had taken several others to WDW but not him. So I promised that if they offered free dining in December, I'd book a trip.
Two days later it was announced that free dining would be available to Disney Visa holders. Rumors said it would be offered to the masses 2 days later, so I had to act to get what I wanted, which was POP on Dec 11-17, which is esxactly what I got. At this point I knew little of what December was about at Disney. I knew about MVMCP and had heard of Candlelight Processional, but that was about it.
This was the first trip I planned far enough out to call for ADRs at the 90 day mark, the first day they could be made at that time. I couldn't get online to make them early because an old phone number was connected to my ressie, so I called right at 6 CST.
Actually I called at 2 minutes till and 1 minute till, then I got that magical voice that said I was in and instantly connected to a cm. I made ADRs for Le Cellier, HDDR, PTC, Plaza and Biergarten, all at the times I wanted.
As time went by, Disney began to 'mess' with our trip. Primarily, they changed the times for Wishes and Spectro for Saturday the 12th. It didn't matter much until Disapalooza! came along. After getting tickets for D! I realized this jeopardized our ability to see Spectro and Wishes but I had already moved my Prime Time Cafe ressie to 11:30 which makes it easy to do everything in one day. And who knows if switching days is even possible. And I will not go to WDW without my pot roast fix. I decided to check online. I put in 11:30; nothing. Then I tried 1;nothing. Next I put in 3 and bingo! there was an opening at 3:10 for Saturday the 11th. I took it and cancelled our 11:30 the 13th.(hope that made some one happy) The unexpected benefit of this was that now instead of going from DHS to HDDR on Monday, we just watch Wishes, then hop on a boat to Ft. Wilderness. So our final plan was
Dec 11-Epcot on arrival at about 3 and dinner at Biergarten at 5:35.
Dec 12-DHS with morning EMH, late lunch at PTC at 3:10, Disapalooza at 9:30.
Dec 13-AK, with dinner at Boma at 4:30 with 30 other Dissers.
Dec 14-MK, with HDDR at 9:30
Dec 15-MK, with dinner at The Plaza at 5:45, and MVMCP after
Dec 16;Epcot, with dinner at Le Cellier at 4:30.
Dec 17-AK, and home again, home again, jiggety jig.
