DW says that these will be a big hit as Christmas gifts for cousins, but am currently unable to work out where US prices are v.their UK shops. When you go to abercrombie.com, it seems to know that you're from the UK and automtically goes to their UK site, with no overide or change region possible.

For example, in UK t-shirts are £30 each - what's the US comparable please?

T-shirts (both mens and womens) are around $25, so much cheaper.

I've read about what A&F is doing to UK internet users, preventing you from reaching the U.S. website. Prices in the U.S. are often half what is being charged in UK stores (and the UK website) and they don't want you to know that. And the Pound is so strong over here. If you're coming to the U.S., wait to buy your Abercrombie merchandise until you arrive here, even if you get charged a little bit of duty when you get home. Orlando also has the cheaper HollisterCo. stores which is an Abercrombie company. If you're visiting Tampa, there is one Ruehl 925 store over there which is another Abercrombie company with more expensive items but lots of discounts.

Generally all US brands/stores will be cheaper over there, the likes of A&F, Polo Ralph Lauren and Oakley for example would all be much cheaper in Florida than if the brands were sold in the UK.

Alternatively your european labels would be more expensive over there, you would expect to pay a lot more for the likes of Armani jeans - maybe a bad example but generally true.

Thanks for that Johnny - am familiar with the pricing differences for Oakley, certain cosmetic brands, etc., but have indeed found clothing comparisons to be hit and miss?

Gap v.similar for example (accepting Old Navy is their value stuff), but was looking for some specific comparisons at A&F given its cool/hip/kids asking for it.:goodvibes

Everything is dirt cheap at the moment (due to the strong pound) so fill your boots.

For example i got an A&F t shirt for about £12, and a Hugo Boss t shirt (from Mall at Millenia) for about £20!!

If you want to view the US Abercrombie site try browsing it through a proxy such as www.proxyofliberty.com it's a bit clunky but you will be able to see the information you want ;)

Most current T-Shirts look to be $24.50

We were just in the store a few days ago and I bought a girls hoodie for $39 and two t-shirts, one for $15.50 and one $19.50 both plus tax. Hope that helps :)

I always tell people that the prices are either the same in $ or even less for new styles, which makes everything half price or less. I always hit their clearance sections, which can be hit or miss with how much they have in and how much they're reduced. I was there a couple of weeks ago and in the clearance bit boardshorts were $30, t-shirts between $15 and $25, polos for less than $20, shirts $40 and even some jeans for $30.

couldn't dissagree more to be honest - GAP stuff is normally $ for £ so everything is basically half price.

Even their Bannana Republic premium brand is cheaper than GAP is in the UK.

Mrs B lives in place.

I got a hooded jumper wheni was over at the start of july. I paid $70 for it. Had a look on the website and the exact same jumper is 70GBP.

They had a big scary black guy standing at the door of the store at florida mall with no top on! I thought it was a mannequin, and nearly had a heart attack when he spoke to me! I wonder why the girl beside him had no top on???

Mall of Milennia has botha Hollister and and A & F :)

There is an Abercrombie and Fitch store in London now. Just between Saville Row and Bond Street. Not far from Regent Street. Prices are reasonable.
BUT....Bring a torch and some earplugs! The music's very loud and I've never seen a store so dark..rediculously so.

can you get any abercrombie and fitch at premium outlets?

There is no A&F Outlet store at any of the outlet malls around Orlando. Sawgrass Mills in Fort Lauderdale had an A&F Outlet a couple years ago but it was short-lived. The only A&F Outlet store that I'm aware of right now is at the Gurnee Mills outlet mall near Chicago. Nothing in Florida though.

ABERCROMBIE COMPANY LOCATIONS IN ORLANDO:
abercrombie (pre-teens): Florida Mall / Mall at Millenia
Abercrombie & Fitch: Florida Mall / Mall at Millenia / Altamonte Mall
HollisterCo: Florida Mall / Mall at Millenia / Altamonte Mall / West Oaks Mall
Ruehl 925: International Plaza (Tampa)

There are some European brands that are much cheaper over here. Out at the Orlando Premium Outlet mall I've seen Europeans go crazy over Adidas, Puma, Miss Sixty and Diesel, to name a few.

For anyone in Florida this week, it's NO SALES TAX week through August 13th for clothing and shoes $50 and under per item. A lot of stores have reduced the prices on some items to get them under $50. The sales tax in Orange County is 6.5% so this is just more money saved!

when i was in the US in November, i bought A&F t-shirts on sale at an A&F store for £8 each....
but i would probably have been willing to pay more.....the material is amazingly soft and the kids love them....much nicer quality than regular brand t-shirts....

We couldn't believe that we could not get on the Abercrombie.com website once the London store was open. We got round it by checking out the UK website, picked the items we liked, then keyed in the name of each one which then came up in reviews on US websites with the price in $. :surfweb:

Everything was the same price in $ as it was in £'s in the London store i.e. t-shirts £30 in London are $30 in US. It really is rip-off Britain! :sad2:
