Lately there has been some heat on the clothing company Ambercrombie and Fitch. They have released some t-shirts recently that have caused quite an uproar.

The first one that had me upset was this one..

I of course am a huge pug lover and felt this was offensive. Then I hear on the news that this one is causing an uproar now..

So what do u guys think? There are a bunch more on there site. I myself have a put a ban on this company. I urge more of you to do the same. Please stop supporting this company.

OK, I admit it ... I thought say no to pugs was pretty funny. And the New Jersey shirt, which they also sell at Urban Outfitters ("New Jersey ... only the strong survive") is very appropriate!

*zips up flame proof suit*

It's just a T-shirt. If you don't like, don't buy it. I think they are funny.

I have a ban on the store, but mostly because of their smut catalogs/ads. The t-shirts don't really bother me.

those shirts are pretty tame for A&F. If my kids wanted one and had the money saved I would let them buy them.

I'm just glad Abercrombie is now "out" here. Waaayyyy too expensive.

I don't see anything offensive about them. Some people just don't like pugs! ;) I, personally, think they are adorable little doggies, just gotta love those little faces!!! :teeth:

I honestly dont find the shirt offensive. I only posted to get opinions of others. I personally dont like the pug shirt...as you can see in my siggy why, I have pugs. I dont understand as to why they are suddenly against pugs...

The other shirt, I actually found humerous. Before everyone jumps on my case about the shirt, i was just asking a general question as to what you thought about them. Very little offends me. I personally wouldnt buy the shirt or anything else from the company, I was just interested in others opinions

::yes::

Those were funny! Gotta love 'em! Ya know, a spin on that west virginia shirt is one I saw for montana... it said "Montana; where men are men and sheep are scared." I would actually buy those shirts. Here's my question to you: I have a few Betty Page shirts. If I wore those would you be offended?

It's just a silly play off the "Say No To Drugs" campaign.

If German Shepard rhymed with Drugs then they would have been chosen. I don't think they really have anything against Pugs.

I agree, if you don't like them, don't buy them.::yes::
Personally, I find them amusing.:p

yep. ::yes::

i bought my "kill a godless, communist, gay baby seal for christ" t-shirt at urban outfitters. i'm guessing that is just a tad more offensive than the t-shirts at a+f. :p ;) :teeth:

Who is Betty Page? Like I said it takes TONS to offend me. I listen to Howard Stern all the time, and can handle just about anything. I just didnt like this particular shirt.

I can see that I shouldnt have posted this here. I wasnt looking for flaming or anything like that. There is a campaign going on at the pug site I frequent to have the shirt removed, and there is even a shirt out there that says Say No to Abercrombie.

Hi,

My dd likes AF clothes. Most of the clothes they sell are offensive to me, mainly because of the length of the tops, shorts and skirts. My dd is 20 and buys what she wants, but she knows how I feel.

herc.

I saw those myself the other day. I thought they were hilarious. I've seen a shirt like the West Virgina one that is about my state Ky. It said "Getting lucky in Kentucky" :)

You asked "so what do you think?"

I think they are funny. They don't offend me. You shouldn't be offended by people's responses, you asked. I did not see ANYONE flame you.

:) I wasn't flaming you, and if it seemed that way, I apologize!:sunny:

Seems no one these days knows who betty page is. This is her:

she was a famous pin-up of the 50's. So far, besides my girlfriend Tanya, only 1 other person seemed to know who she was. a CM at AK!!! He came up and asked if I was a fan, told him I was, and he said he was too. We talked for a bit about her but now i'm ranting into another topic, so i'll stop here. Needless to say, I just think they're cute (the shirts).

I suppose if someone from WV wants to wear that shirt, it is funny to them. However, maybe the possibility of seeing someone from another state wear the same shirt may make it more offensive. Kind of like I can say anything I want about my spouse but you better not.;) You know what I mean? LOL

I went in AE the other day to look for my nephew a tee-shirt for his b-day. I couldn't believe the beer shirts they had (many, many). I don't care if he wears one or not but I can't bring myself to buy him one since I'd feel like he might think I'm condoning underage drinking if I gave it to him. There was also one for girls there that was a 'quickie motel' one that I thought was quite inappropriate.
