abd soap opera

has anyone eaten at the new abc soap dpera bistro in ca yet.if so what did you think and what tv shows are represented and how much staff entertainment was there .we loved the fifties prime time diner at mgm and wonder if this copares thanks daveb

We went there for a late lunch on a Thursday afternoon - hardly anyone was there. You got to choose whether to sit in one of 4 different "sets" (All My Children, General Hosp, One Life to Live, or Port Charles.) We sat in the AMC set - in the Chandler Mansion living room. The waitress was supposed to be "in character". She was wearing "scrubs" - like she worked in the hospital. Sorry - it was no where near the fun of the Prime-Time Cafe! Maybe during busier times, they'll have a little show? (BTW - the food was just OK.)

I agree it is no where near "prime time cafe" of WDW. We were there this past Wednesday and sat in the AMC room. We were told when shown our seats that all the Servers were trying out for a new soap and would be acting out their parts with us. Unfortunately this did not work. Our CM delievered her one line and then was never "in character" again. This seemed true of other servers in the AMC room. Hopefully we had a "bad experience" and it will pick up for others. I would not return until I hear some good comments from others on these boards or other DL boards.

I did not think the food was that good.

My fiance and I went there back in February right after DCA had just opened. We sat in the "General Hospital" area...which was fine because that's the only soap I ever watched years ago in college. My favorite part of the 30 minute meal (yes! a sit down meal in only a half hour!) was our boom guy. He came over in these scrubby khaki pants and just plopped our drinks down. He couldn't have cared less about us. Our waitress was supposed to be a doctor (in scrubs) but got out of character. That was partly my fiance's fault because he kept asking her about the progress of the park and its success so far. I felt that the food was good even though it was a little over priced. I don't know if I'll go there again, but I'm glad I went at least once.

We ate at the ABC Bistro last week and sat in the One life to live set. Our waiter was really great, he was playing the part of a detective and was quite funny and very nice. Twice during our meal other 'characters" came out and portrayed soap opera type scenes involving us and other diners in the scene with them. It was very amusing and they did a great job. We can't wait to go back again.

I think the staff's still working out the details, because it took forever to get seated, since we were a "large" party (6 plus a high chair). Several of the hosts looked stressed by Disney standards.

We sat in the General Hospital Room. We all had great meals, though the service was decent. Of course our baby was throwing everything, which was a distraction. The older kids really liked their meal.

Our server did not stay in character, though you could tell she was trying. It just fizzled midway through the meal.

The cast of characters whizzed through once and entertained the guests...for about 10 minutes.

We were sat in the Country Club and was served by someone in scrubs. Our waitress was never in character. The food was okay.
