Woops, meant Backstage Magic. Anyway, I am so excited! The July 18-23 trip is almost here! I hope we get to go to club 33, that would be my dream.:goodvibes

That would be awesome! But, I admit, I'm enough of a baby that I'll be more than a little disappointed if we don't. Sometimes it's better not to "read the spoilers," if you know what I mean.

That said, we did this trip last year and can't wait to do it again, only this time with DH! We'll see you in Hollywood in 12 days!

Yeah, I'd be disapointed if we didn't either. And yes, If I read the spoilers and I don't get that thing on a trip, I get disapointed as well!

I specifically stopped reading the posts because now I'll be sad if we don't go instead of appreciating the things we do!

And I'm notorious for lecturing my children on appreciating what they have...

We leave the day after tomorrow to enjoy a little bit more of what California has to offer. Thought we could see it all in a week, you know--:rotfl:

I am at work (physically at least) and the kids are at home, supposedly packing and doing the last minutes stuff. We are NOT the organized "a ziplocked outfit for each day" kind that I read about and so admire!

Help me--besides ID, credit cards, money, drugs, cameras, disney pins and my son's autograph book what will I regret foregetting?

Our plane leaves tonight at 7:30!

Sunscreen, hats to keep the sun off your face (yes, I'm paranoid about sunburn, but enjoying the SoCal sun as a teen gave me skin cancer, so please forgive me). Comfortable shoes are a must. And don't forget your plane tickets!:)

Plane ticket? I haven't had a plane ticket in YEARS! It's all electronic... :thumbsup2

I totally agree with the hats & sunscreen!

Bring a battery charger (or spare batteries) for your camera.

Sayhello

Check, check, check!

Thanks for the suggestions!

It's funny, we travel a fair amount, and I would say I LOVE to travel, but it's hard to get out of town...

By that I mean the process of making sure the house sitter knows how to take care of the snails :scared1: and water the new plants out front and the packing (thank goodness for my daughter--who will also be blamed for anything forgotten! ;) ) and then the mad rush to the airport...

I'm so grateful for the opportunity, why does it seems so stressful? I'm laughing at myself because of this!

Sayhello

You're right! Although, I always take my printout from Southwest Airline with that crazy confirmation code on it.

Started our "independent portion" of our backstage magic trip today in San Francisco. Enjoyed the Walt Disney Family Museum. Really a wonderful museum! Quite a representation of his life and many of his trials. Fascinating and highly recommended.

Of course, made us all the more anxious to be AT Disney, but we don't want to wish our vacation away!

You're kidding! I volunteer at the museum and was there in the early to mid-afternoon. What a small world (after all)! It is an amazing place. If you saw some crazy lady in a purple vest in gallery 7 (with the overhead projectors) trying to explain the interactive exhibits, that was me!

Miss SD--

We didn't arrive until late afternoon, so we would have missed you even if we'd known.

If I lived in San Francisco I would definitely become a member and support this museum--what a gem! Are you participating in some of the events next weekend?

We appreciated the staff, too. They were very "cast member" like--in the best sense of that phrase.

Thank you for your volunteer work at the museum--it's a wonderful place!

I'm not going to participate in any of the 55th anniversary events because we'll be driving to LA on Saturday. That way, we'll have a fresh start when Backstage Magic starts Sunday. I hope you're enjoying your stay in SF.

Of course you'll be on your way to LA.

We look forward to meeting you--but I've given up all hope of winning any of the trivia contests! :lmao:

We really have enjoyed San Francisco. Never enough time of course, but we've hit it hard. Headed out of town tomorrow to see the rest of California!

We are in the same boat as far as the trivia contest goes! The chances of us winning, is well, like a snowball's chance of freezing in........:rotfl2:
Getting very excited and nervous. We leave on Friday.

You are in for such a magical time! You will be surprised about the trivia contest. It's fun and the "host" does a great/fun job. You will laugh the whole time. Enjoy your Guides!!! They are the best!!! Looking forward to reading everyones report! :goodvibes

Well, for my PRE-trip report, I can tell you that we tried surfing lessons. The kids took to the boards. I took to the sand. I basically ate sand. Even with wetsuits we had sand so many places that there was no way to get to the Getty as planned, so so much for the cultural part of the day.

Also, despite following Miss SD's good advice and slathering on the 70 proof sun block repeatedly we have 2/5 with some sunburn. The weather is beautiful! Hot and sunny here in Anaheim. We're told by the locals that the weather has been generally cool and rainy this season so we are lucky to have the change.

Drive safely Miss SD!

Thanks! The drive on I-5 is the worst part of the trip.

Sorry to hear you guys got sunburned and missed going to the Getty. The beach is always fun, though. And, yes, it sounds like things have heated up in SoCal. My mother and sister, who both live in east San Diego County, said it's been over 100 degrees there. Living up here for 14 years now, it's sometimes hard for me to get acclimated to the high SD temps, even though I grew up there.

I look forward to meeting you in Hollywood. Enjoy the rest of your on-your-own time in LA!
