I'm listening to the podcast review of our trip right now. I plan on saving it because it will be my "audio" souvenir!

HI Becky,

I burned it to CD too...:dance3:

Only question is how long will that media be around:confused3

Please tell Stephanie & Jeff... HI for us.

Mark

Just wanted to let everyone know that I miss the group. I've been back to work for a couple of days now and everyone is tired of hearing my stories already. It was so great to be with so many Disney people in one space and hear everyone else's stories.

Hi Melissa, I miss everyone in our group. It was just so great to be with a group of people that "get" Disney. I have told our story to friend but unless you where there they just don't understanding our amazing trip!

You are so right, I'm still not sure I understand, more like believe, everything we saw.

I've been thinking for quite some time that I need to get into a career involving Disney in some way and now I know it. I have 6 more years until my son graduates from high school and then I want to move close to the parks, however now not sure if it will be south or west.

Me too me too!!! But I know for sure I want to move westward toward Disney. Not sure when I will finish this degree of mine, but maybe before Steph starts high school. I have super big goals of having a desk in that imagineering building someday! Maybe they will hire me as a receptionist :lmao: At the very least I plan on trying for an internship next summer. I already looked at the corporate Disney recruiting site at their job listings. A couple months ago, there were some internship openings that I applied for one that I was "sort of" qualified for. I did get a response back - at least they LOOKED at my resume. :lmao:

I hear ya about not everyone "getting" it. Even poor Stephanie came home on Monday after 3rd grade show-and-tell time and said something to the effect of "Hmph! No one really cared that much - only 3 people asked me questions, while everyone else was all excited and asked questions about seeing "Hop" over Spring Break." I asked her if she told them that she met someone that WORKED with Walt Disney and that she didn't have to wait in any lines and that she saw all this backstage stuff. She said "Yeah! I told them everything!" I asked what the teacher said, just "That's cool." :sad2:

Although, I went to my statistics instructor's office hours yesterday and explained how I was on vacation and where I went. She proceeded to ask me if I have ever been to WDW or DL before...and then said when she was younger she wanted to be an imagineer, and then said that she used to love watching the behind-the-scenes Disney shows on the travel channel. She loved hearing about the trip.::cool1: Maybe I'll get bonus points from her.

I posted over on FB on Kathy's wall how it really felt like we were at "Disney Camp" together. I miss you all too! Glad we have the internet at least to keep in touch.

Hi Becky,

I truely hope you get the Imagineering Internship... That would be so cool to know someone working there... and I can see Stephanie following in your footsteps.:worship: If they only knew what we did... then you would be on top of the resume pile.

Good Luck,

Mark

It would be great to know someone personally that worked in Imagineering.

What an amazing trip! So sad that it is over now but it was so wonderful spending time with all of you and getting to know everyone. We did so many amazing things and every time we did something great, the next thing seemed to top it :goodvibes So many good memories. I can't wait to see what Pete has cooked up for next year. Maybe we can have an ABD reunion :thumbsup2

Our experience in the Haunted Mansion was great and truly something I will never forget. I don't think I'll ever be able to ride the Haunted Mansion again and not think of all of you reciting the dialogue!

I miss everyone too :sad1: And I totally agree that it was so nice to be with a group of people that "get" Disney. No one else seems to appreciate all that we experienced. I told one of my friends that we went backstage at Soarin' and her response was "Did it look like the back of a movie screen?" But I know all of you "get" it and felt the same way when we went backstage at Soarin' and at so many other places.

Hope to get to see some of you at WDW soon!

And Melissa, we should definitely plan a NJ meet sometime soon!

I agree we should definitely get the NJ team together for dinner or something:grouphug:

Hi all,

As I have had time to reflect our amazing trip I keep coming back to the question posed to us at our farewell dinner. To paraphrase, what was your favorite moment? There were so many to choose from but as I think more and more about it... It was sharing all these special moments with a Very Very Special Group of Friends who "GET IT". We all shared many goose bump moments together. Louise & I want to thank each & everyone of you for helping make this trip so special.

Walt lives in us!!! Till we meet again...

Love,

Louise & Mark

YES! It was such a great time - I want the memories to live on! I knew it would be a great trip, but I didn't' realize what an emotional impact it would have or how special it really would be. It's really cool to know there are 30 other people out there who know exactly how I feel!

We just got back from Steph's piano lessons and her former voice lessons teacher was there. She was interested in hearing about our trip and LOVED hearing every detail. She said she may have to take this trip someday. :cool1:

I was having a misty moment when we were supposed to go by the carousel that inspired Walt to create DL.

I like to think that Walt help create a new special family last week. I really do feel like we are bonded together now by our great ABD experience.

I told Shawn you said hi. He said to tell you guys he misses you. I also showed him some of your photos!

I know what you mean, I was laying in bed last night thinking about the trip and the group and started to get a little misty myself.

How's everyone doing? Getting back in the swing of normal life? :P!

We are, but it's OK. I'm finishing up my classes and have a final next Tuesday. Wish me luck. I'm only taking one class this semester, and when I'm done with THAT exam and one more assignment I will have my MS degree this May. We can all have a virtual online celebration together! How does a round of virtual dole whips on me sound?

In other news...
I asked Stephanie if she would want to do another ABD Backstage Magic trip again - she perked up and agreed! Someday....For now, though, we booked the Podcast cruise 4.0 trip. Anyone else going on this cruise? We've never cruised before so I figured we'd go all in for our first one!:thumbsup2
