ABC Swap - COMPLETE

Honestly, I think its gonna be a challenge to get 9 scrappers for each group. I have some who were joining either one or the other, but not 9 total for either group. How about we wait until later today and see what happens. I don't want to drag signups out too long since these will take a while to put together. Lets see what happens today and I will decide tonight.

There are definitely advantages to being child free.

I know why some animals eat their young!

Soooo true! You never know what life is going to bring! DH's oldest (but younger than him) sister was killed in a car accident almost 6 years ago. She was 23. So hard! It's still tough and now his other sister (now 25 years old) is having major health issues. My in-laws are a mess!

Ummmm...is it Rachel? I'll take her! Not that I wouldn't take Sarah....I just adore Rachel! But, you HAVE to take my PITA James!!! (We use "PITA" a lot in our house...not sure if others know what it means??!! LOL)

Actually right now it's Sarah, but, I think after the graduation ceremony today it might be Rachel as well and I'm sure she would love to visit you. You're one of her favorite people. I would be happy to take James.

From what everyone has said, I think I'll keep enjoying the simple, child-free life! ha ha!

Absolutely enjoy it now!!! DH and I were very young parents and now that they are growing (still have the almost 7 year old little guy), we are making some awesome future plans!! We didn't even go on a honeymoon because we already had our oldest (he was 2) and I couldn't stand to be away from him that long! We had a trip booked and paid for and I backed out and we lost a lot of money, but why be miserable and miss him??!! Now, I am MORE THAN COMFORTABLE with a little getaway with no kids!! Did it last year in Disney...awesome!!

OMG!!! I just had tea coming out of my nose and possibly my eyes??!! LOL

That was hilarious!

She is so sweet! And Ha!!!!! You would put a return to sender stamp on him really quickly!! He is higher maint. than Lexi! I thought girls were tough....nah...not in our family! She's so laid back and easy going!

Danielle--I have a question. I was just re-reading the requirements and wamt to make sure I'm not confusing myself (it happens a lot). We are making a title instead of a 4inch letter correct? No 4 inch letters as an element? Just want to verify

For instance could I make a decorated 2 inch letter as the first letter in my title (or a welded & shadowed title), journal box, photo mat, and a paper piecing. Is that sort of what we're going for?

I have a question also...for the embellishing two ways...some elements are hard to embellish two ways...like the paper clips and even sometimes the shapes. Do you have any suggestions as to how to handle that? I don't want them to be too over-done.

No 4" letters for this one. I think we are looking for a full title. Welded letters, traditional title on an appropriately sized background, computer printed title, something like that. If you have an idea - let us know. We are open for suggestions.

The swaps usually say embellished at least once. I copied the instructions for this one from an old swap and it was listed as two ways. If you are totally happy with a piece and it would look weird with a second embellishment, I'm OK with that. I just don't want a single piece of paper with a sticker on. Do you know what I mean? You can use special paper, ink, stickles, etc. The kind of stuff that most of us do anyway. Totally good with your judgment.

Cheryl, you have brought me to happy tears! you are just so sweet!

I wasn't planning on doing this swap, but have changed my mind!!!

can I please have for Everyday: H - Happy Days and W - Water!

can't chime in on the dating thing (thank goodness) just yet, but I'd take your girls too Cheryl! they aree both so sweet, just like their mama!!!

Welcome Lisa. You're giving me goosebumps again. Was going to send you a PM about our special letter, but see you got to us first. Glad to have you join us.

I am thinking of joining, but have never done anything this large before. :goodvibes

What is a slide mount? :confused3

I hope this works:

Slide Mounts –You can alter or embellish an actual slide mount or create your own out of cardstock. The mounts are available in a variety of colors and shapes, or Sizzix makes a die with 4 shapes on it. Usually 2 per person.

You can also go back to the sticky on the top of the swaps thread and find the slidemount swap that was done in September of last year. Lots of really nice examples on there.

We would love to have you join us. Due date isn't until the end of July, since we will need some time to put these together. It a lot of pieces, but you end up with an entire book almost finished for you. All you need is the book, background paper and pictures. Everything else is finished and ready to be put on the page. A great way to finish a book in just one afternoon.
