Has anyone gone to the ABC Market next to the Candy Cane Inn? What is it like? Can you get fruit? We won't have a car and we will need to get a few things. I had read on a previous thread that if you don't live in the States that you can't pre-order your groceries on line from Vons or Albertsons :sad2: (that had been my plan). So if anyone can help that would be great. Oh yeah, what are the prices like for ABC? Can you get soy products there? Thank you so much for your help. We don't leave till November, but I want to know in advance what I am facing.;) Oh, if anyone can suggest anything else, I would love it:flower3:

I dont recall seeing fruit, but I wasnt looking for it. Its not a full store, its more like a little mini-mart/ 7-11/ quick stop type place. Good place to grab something to drink, a forgotten toothbrush and a little snack, not a place to buy groceries.

They do have apples, oranges and bananas at the breakfast every morning, so they do have fruit at the hotel. You might consider taking a cab to the grocery store. There is one that is probably about 2 miles away. The bus would also be an option.

Oh, there is also fresh fruit carts in the park, if fruit is your main concern. They typically have apples, oranges, bananas, cut up mango, watermelon, grapes and strawberries. They are about $2-4 each. Not cheap, but they are fresh, clean and ready to eat.

I just went through their online grocery shopping and used the hotel address and my cell number, I also had to register online for delivery (can only do when one week out) and had no problems. I couldn't put through my order though, we aren't there until the 18th. Had no troubles so far, but have yet to put in my CC info for billing, may stop me there. You could just try it and see, they have everything you could want (fresh fruit, milk, cheese, all beverages, etc...). Hope this helps

We stocked up on basics at the ABC market and then went to the 7/11 next door for fresh fruit. It worked out well for us the first time, when we didn't have a car.
As the pp said you can also get fruit every morning at the CCI breakfast. We usually grabbed an extra banana or muffin for later.

Thanks everyone! BCNorth could you please let me know how it goes. I would be really interested to see if they accepted your CC. I could get on the site and "order", but I didn't try and buy as we don't leave for 7 months. I am so excited about our trip and it is basically all I think about. If it weren't for these boards I would probably go insane with no outlet.:Imao:

The problem is when you try to place your order the drop down menu for billing info only has the states, There's no way to enter a province. So as far as I know you can't order from Canada. Has anybody else been able to do it?

The abc market does have some fruit, but its not a supermarket... as someone said they have the things like at a 7-11......... we got drinks and cup or noodles and soups things like that.......i know they have fruit because i bought banana's.........:) They have things you would need but i'm not sure about the soy as we don't eat soy so didn't check :confused3 .......... If you don't have a car a taxi ride to the walmart is only about $10-$15 each way and they have everything you could need! we didn't find it till a few days before our last Day but it will be the 1st thing this trip! I'm not even gonna take diapers and all that i'm gonna buy them there so i have more room to bring stuff home!!! :goodvibes

We used the market for beverages, yogurt (to add to the continental breakfast that was delivered to our room daily), snacks & some medication. We didn't see fruit there but I wasn't looking for it.
Are you staying at the CCI? We did & ordered fruit every day with our breakfast (premium room). It wasn't anything special mind you....just apples & bananas but it was fruit.
Like someone else mentioned they also have fresh fruit carts in the park.
Not sure about the soy though. Sorry.

I had contacted both Vons and Albertsons last year to ask how a Canadian credit card can be accepted and they told me they are unable to accept it because the billing address of your credit card would have to be a location in the USA, since that is how their website is set up. (Seems weird that they can't change that! Other online places have allowances for 2 countries such as USA and Canada, and they could bill our credit cards in USD rather than CAD to make things easy for them.) The only thing I can think of that might work is if a credit card company would allow a temporary billing address (additional billing address) to be listed on your file to state the hotel address in the USA as a temp. billing address, [but I can't see a credit card company allowing that to take place.]

If anyone here figures out how a Canadian can place an order for groceries and receive delivery to a hotel in Anaheim, please let us know!
