Just want to post - I post about using ABCGiftcards and a bunch of other gift card resellers a bunch and I had the first bad card problem the other day. Their return policy covers cards within 45 days. I purchase a $100 Dunkin' card, used it a few times and then it was cancelled. Presumably the seller of the card had retained the card numbers and used it ? Anyway I was well outside the 45 day window (who can use up $100 at Dunkin' that quickly) and assumed all was lost but contacted them anyway. Just now got a note that they refunded the amount I paid! I've seen some bad reviews on the web and I will be more cautious to buy only what I can use or at least transfer right away to be safe, but I'm happy to report they came through!

Good to know they took care of you! I buy from several of these gift card resellers and have yet to have any problems but I always wonder what they would do if I did. I try to use my gift cards really quickly but it isn't always possible.

I had a couple of bad cards with Gift Card Monkey. The first person I talked to was extremely apologetic , but the second seemed to doubt my story, because she said she had just checked the numbers before she mailed them to me. In the end they were refunded, but I no longer buy from them because their guarantee time is shorter than many other resellers.

I try to avoid buying large value cards. I buy three $50 cards rather than one $150 card. Hopefully if there ever is another problem, it wouldn't be all the cards. I also now buy from resellers with at least a 45 day guarantee.

My concern with a service like this is that they might be stolen in some cases. I know they go missing from the mail. I ordered a $60 cheesecake factory giftcard for Christmas for my BIL. It never arrived. I was able to dispute the transaction on paypal and they cancelled it right away. However I waited weeks for it to come first. It makes me wonder if someone took it out of the mail to stick on a giftcard site. If so, whoever bought it would see it was valid at first, but as soon as I disputed the transaction it would be useless. Just makes me worry for people using these services.

I was very worried when I read your post, I will definitely now try to use all cards within the 45 day time period! I was glad to hear they refunded you!
