i was checking out an article on another site about abandoned plans in the past for DVC resorts, and a couple of things stuck out
1) Eagle Pines.....I remember right after we bought in Disney went full throttle with this resort, there were plans drawn up, mailings sent, and was close to construction beginning...I had forgotten that it was a victim of the devastation that 9/11 wrought on the tourism industry . I also remember what is now Art of Animation was in the process of being built as a part of pop century, and the half built buildings actually lay abandoned for years
2) DVC West......in 1992 this was supposed to be the second DVC Resort after what is now named OKW....what stands out to me is the location, which was supposed to be directly across the street from the Beach Club and Yacht Club, running along the border of Epcot and bumping up against the monorail line to Epcot...I was thinking that that space remains a damn good location, and I wonder why it has stayed unused?
