I know what she did is unimaginable to most of us, but I do hope that whoever is handling her case will take into consideration the fact that she did ensure the baby was given to a person that would get it to safety. She was obviously in distress and trying to keep the baby safe. I don't think she should be allowed to keep it or anything, but I also hope that instead of jail time, she is given medical and mental health care.
So sad I'm glad they took the mother to a hospital to get checked out too. Labor and birthing is not a joke, as someone who bled out and had to have a transfusion. Add to that the mental state she must be in to have handed her child over, a hospital is where she needs to be as well.
Good news is she did hand the baby over, instead of something much worse happening.
The article doesn’t say mom was taken to a hospital - my guess is that she was taken for a psych evaluation, hopefully after a physical evaluation. Under the circumstances I don’t think mom will be prosecuted, sounds like she’s being evaluated to get the help she obviously needs. Apparently she and her husband were staying at AKL.
