Abandoned baby at AKL

It's crazy, but I'd rather have someone do that then do something awful to the baby. :(
Oh absolutely! My line of thinking is that the mother (or who ever handed the baby off) feels as though someone vacationing at WDW and staying at AKL no less, could give the baby a good life or take proper action, which they did.

We have the safe haven law here, but it doesn’t include Disney hotels so far as I am aware. Glad the baby is OK.

What would the person have done if someone hadn't been hanging out around the hotel at 2am. (Though I'd question why someone was hanging around outside the hotel at 2am anyway...)

So glad that the little one is safe. Can you imagine this happening to you? How do you get up the next day and go to an amusement park?!

I'm glad the baby is okay. Saying lots of prayers for this child and the mother. She can't be in a mentally healthy state of mind and I really hope she gets the medical and mental health help she needs.

Could have been on a smoke break . . .

Oh...I thought it was a guest who was handed the baby. I guess a CM on a break is an option.

Though I don't think I'd ever had a baby to someone reeking of smoke...though someone abandoning a baby probably isn't in their right mind anyway.

Can you imagine being handed a baby??
I told my husband , we would have just headed home with this little bundle and called it a day. We have 3 grandkids, whats one more.
Thank God the baby is safe, I'm sure it will be placed in a loving home. There will be a line for him or her.

My mom wakes up several times a night and usually goes outside to smoke a cigarette. There have also been nights when we have arrived to our Disney resort in the middle of the night (or even returned from a park really, really late).

Huh. I guess arriving late might be true.

Not commenting on the other as I'd probably get in trouble. :P

At any rate, I'm sure there are cameras around so it should not be hard to get a picture of the person handing the baby off.

I can think of lots of reasons to be up at that time. In fact, my January stay at Pop I left the hotel about that hour in the morning to run home and put my faucets on drip so the pipes wouldn’t freeze. Not that we have had cold temps, but it could be anything from a smoke break, to a shift change, to someone who ran to the store for something urgent. But I agree that it was a lucky coincidence that someone was out and about. I would hate to think the baby might have just been left to fend for itself. :sad2:

My wife said the same thing when I mentioned this to her.

Thankfully they at least gave the baby over to someone to make sure that the baby was taken care of.

Poor littles, and poor mama. I can't imagine...at least they found someone to give the baby to instead of leaving the baby in a dumpster or something.

We went to a festival in Gainesville last Saturday as a break in our 2 week trip. We got back at 4am and weren't the only people about - it happens.

if Disney could find a picture of the thief who took a stroller from the park, is guaranteed they will find who abandoned the baby. There’s probably a connection to the hotel somehow, isn’t a place that you will just be by chance, this person drove or walked (very unlikely) to Disney property to abandon the baby. Sad

It seems to me that the guest may be involved in some way other than just randomly being handed a baby?
