Abandon 2016 DCL Alaska cruise.

We are in the same boat... we have booked the Celebrity Millennium Southbound from Seward to Vancouver. DCL doesn't offer this and we are able to get a Royal suite for $6k less than a disney 1 bdrm suite. We are hoping for the best because we live DCL.

We took a 5 day to Cozumel and Key West on the Celebrity Constellation this past spring break. It was fantastic! We've only done the Wonder on DCL, but I felt it was a very comparable boat. I was able to get an aft verandah, two classic alcoholic bev packages, classic non-alcohol bev package, free gratuities, 40 min of internet and $200.00 obc for a VERY reasonable price (2A 1C). We had absolutely 0.00 due when we left the ship and i bought DD a $50.00 pair of sunglasses, upgraded DD's non-alcoholic package to premium, as well as cashing out some money for the casino. OMG - the luxury of roasting on the pool deck and just getting free bottles of water brought to us because of the bev packages was AWESOME! We enjoyed the service very much. It was VERY similar to our Disney experience. The dress code is a bit more strict than Disney, but we never really had a problem. We just dressed for dinner and stayed in those clothes the rest of the night. I thought the food was as good as and possibly slightly better than our Disney trip. Overall, we were very happy and I wouldn't hesitate the sail X again. The celebrity cruise critic forum is a great resource!

If you're a coffee drinker, I highly recommend getting a classic non-alcohol package (unless you're also a drinker and they you may want to check out the classic or premium alcohol packages). The one thing on Celebrity that I love, love, love is Café Al Bacio. It's their onboard coffee place. They have espresso's, cappuccino's, latte's, etc. Pages and pages of choices and it's all included in the classic non-alcohol (or classic alcohol) package along with bottled water, soda and tea forte (also served at Café Al Bacio). They also offer fantastic desserts and treats throughout the day and lovely breakfast pastries in the morning (almond croissants, nutella croissants, muffins, coffee cake, donuts, etc.)

Totally agree! SOOOOO worth it!

I have sailed with both Celebrity and Disney. I like both cruise lines for different reasons. My first choice, if sailing with adults only, would be Celebrity. This is not to say I wouldn't cruise Disney without children. I had exceptional cruises and thought the service was great. I have to admit I prefer the food on Celebrity.

I've never sailed on Celebrity, but I have done Alaska on a different line (NCL.) And while I enjoyed DCL itself (not counting ports, just ship and service) more than NCL, sailing on Alaska is truly amazing and I bet you will really enjoy yourself no matter what line you are on.
