Aarrgggg.....just a little WalMart vent

Well, I found a picture of DH, DSs, and myself along with DH's grandmother from this August. We will be seeing her tomorrow and I thought it would be nice to get a print and frame it just as a little gift.

I cropped it, put it on a floppy, went to Wal Mart, checked the floppy to see if the pic was OK, ordered 6 reprints of it at the hour photo. I fought the crowds, went to the mall to buy frames, waited an hour, went back to WalMArt and picked up my reprints.

Got home and guess what......our heads are chopped off!!!!!!

OK.....I previewed the print and it fit into a 4x6 fine. I am so irritated. Now I have to go BACK, waste another hour when I should be packing, get more prints.......

Oh-kay... how did they *not* notice the heads were chopped off?

Hope they do better the second time around.

Since digital photos are not the same aspect ratio as 4x6 prints, I always try to resize the images so that this doesn't happen. The photo printing machines automatically crop images, and sometimes they don't make very good decisions on just what to crop. I would much rather they print the photos with extra wide black or white borders, but I must be in the minority.

Good luck with your reprints. Wal-Mart should do them for free. Too bad they can't refund your time. Hope the second batch turns out OK.

Do you have a color printer? (Inkjet or laser)

One trip to Staples and you could essentially print these photos yourself-I'm not sure about the quality of Walmart's final prints (obviously the service isn't particularly personal) but photo paper comes in glossy/matte/ semi-matte, a variety of sizes...at least it would free you from having to go back to Walmart tomorrow.

The crowds at Staples may be another story altogether.

Hey Karen, save that Trip to Walmart..

Go to CVS! CVS is running a special for FREE digital prints.

You will get 5, yes, 5 digital pictures for FREE and any others at regualar price.

Just show up with an Extra care card, (if you don't have one, it doesn't take long to get one.. ) and you will put it in the machine and they will develop them..

I did this last night, and it took all of 10 minutes!
